Just wondering if mousekeeping keeps you well stocked on Shampoo and soap for the kids? What else can I leave at home? Hairdryers? Iron?
Staying at Pop
Thanks,
Melissa

This question was asked not so long ago and all replies said that Mousekeeping keeps you well stocked and in the case you should need more, there are no problems in getting replacements. However, many people mentioned not liking the shampoo available and that they therefore bring their own.

Hi,
I did bring some body wash and soap of our own. Also one DS needs a specific shampoo.
Others here will tell you that the shampoo and soap is gross, but I thought it was adequate.
Pop has hair dryers and irons.
I wish they'd put in a tiny coffee maker!

Have fun!
We were at Pop last month for the first time! We loved it!

I prefer to bring my own. I like certain scents of body wash and shampoo. My DH on the other hand will use whatever you give him. So, I just pack my stuff and let DH use the hotel brand. I also bring my own hairdryer. I have very thick hair and it would take an hour if I even tried to blow it dry using the hotel's.

I am also bring my own hand pump soap from Bath and Body this year. My hands dry out too easily to use the bar soap.

Thanks! I didn't think about hand soap. Good idea to bring your own from bath and body.

I can live with almost any shampoo/soap for a week. I do bring conditioner because the shampoo/conditioner combo doesn't work well. But I bring a VERY small sample size. My tip, for what it's worth, for toiletries:

get sample size toothpaste, floss, sometimes rinse, from the dentist when we get our teeth cleaned. If they don't give you any, ASK!

When your deoderant is almost done - throw it in the carry on.

ditto with my liquid foundation.

Save all the samples of shampoo/conditioner/body wash that come in the mail - sunday paper - anywhere.

Buy cheap toothbrushes (I can get 3 for $1.79 at a local grocery store.)

I have all this stuf pre-packed in my carryon. When I'm done with them at the end of the vacation - I toss them intead of having to pack them back up!

I also get a cheap mesh standup laundry hamper (.99) at the local cheapo store (DS works there so I get a 20% discount too!!) Use it and leave it!

My family laughs when anything sample sized comes to the house. They know its going in the Disney bag!!!

They keep you very well-stocked on shampoo/conditioner and soap. I think the H2O products are great, but others think different so it really is just a matter of your opinion. They also supply irons and hair dryers!! Have a Fun Vacation!!:)

I have very sensitive skin. So I bring my own body and hair products. I use the shea butter body wash by Walmart. It does come in a bar too, but it's only made by Oil of Olay. I do try to find smaller bottles to put my hair products in.

Personally, I leave everything at home. I don't have allergies or sensitive skin or feel the need to have my own "stuff".

I bring - toothbrush, toothpaste, contact lens holder, contact lens solution, deodorant, and a hairbrush. I have doubles of all of those in a bag so when we go, I grab the bag and that's it.

I always keep a toiletry bag packed and re-use those items on each trip, when they get low I just replace them. We bring home all those little bottles for my cousin, she thinks she is a big girl with the spa stuff. We will use the little soaps for handwashing.

Mousekeeping always gives plenty of samples, but to me that H2O stuff stinks, and I am very sensitive to most soaps, so I must bring my Dial with me and my own hair products.

All resorts have hairdryers and irons, but if the one in your room is gone or doesn't work, just call Mousekeeping and they will bring you one quickly.

I love the H20 shampoo.....it's the best part of the holiday!

...well, maybe not, but I still like it!

What about when renting a DVC villa?

If staying on points you'll get Trash/towel service on the 4th day. Depending on your mousekeeper she may leave you more soap & shampoo, but it's not in the definition of trash/towel. You could probably ask her for an extra bar or bottle too if you run into her in the hall.

If you're renting through the hotel then you'll have daily room service just as with any other room.

We just call housekeeping if we need more. One thing is that I do like to bring my own conditioner, because I like extra conditioning for my hair. But, other than that the shampoo and soap are adequate for us.
