Hello! :wave2: DH and I are taking my mom, dad and sister to the World in December. On the 10th (4 days before our departure) I want to have a "Disney Dinner" @ our place to give them a gift basket, itineraries, etc..... and give my sister her FIRST plane tickets (she has NO idea) for her birthday. I want it to be a really special night, so I have a few things planned....

But what to eat?!

I am looking for ideas for a Disney-themed dinner. I don't want recipes FROM WDW, but more along the lines of Mickey shaped items.... things named after movies or characters, etc

Such as... Baklava (aladdin), "poison apple" pie (snow white), mickey pizza (classic 3 circle mickey), etc

Any takers? I know there are some really creative DISers :earboy2:

maybe

Castle cake
Pirates Punch
Dumbo's dumplings

cute idea

You can use the smaller refrigerator biscuits and put them into Mickey shapes and bake them. Disney and FAST!

probably not what you're looking for, be whenever we go to disney, our last dinner at home before we go is mickey shaped pancakes

That's EXACTLY the kind of thing I'm looking for!

Keep 'em coming :) If I'm gonna play hostess, I wanna have a lot to work with..... even if it IS just 6 people.... :rotfl:

We would do a Mickey roni salad (aka macaroni salad just with mickey head pasta) and some Mickey head waffles. Have some Mickey head candles on or around the table etc.

For dessert you could give each person icecream with 2 chocolate wafers or oreos on top for the mickey ears. You could also have trail mix and call it Pluto's dog food. Be creative with how you display the food. You could put chips or something in an upsidedown mickey hat or arange the plates and bowls in the shape of a mickey head. You could use a mickey stuffed animal as a centerpiece, get a mickey hole punch to make confetti for the table, or make place cards with disney characters on them. You could make fortune cookies with disney trivia inside them or come up with some other way to incorperate disney trivia and tips into the meal. Good luck!!!

What fun ideas! Does anyone know where to get Mickey pasta? I have seen it at WDW, but can you buy it online, etc? I also love the Mickey ears serving bowl :) You all are so creative! :sunny:

We (my parents and his parents) had a small Disney dessert theme when all of us were making our plans for our trip together. The girls and I made a mickey shaped cake decorated with sprinkles and we got 2 kinds of cookies that were mickey shaped at Dollar Tree. I also saw Mickey and friend theme stuff at Walmart Candy isle.

We did this for all my nieces and nephews before we took them to DL. We started off with "tea" and crumpets. You could do this for either Alice in Wonderland, or Mary Poppins. Then we served Spaghetti and Meatballs from Lady and the Tramp. For dessert, my sister made a castle cake. Oh, before dinner, we let them eat Churros and pretzels. It was fun.

That sounds like a really fun idea!! You could do a Mickey shaped cake. I think at Michaels they have cake pans that are shaped like different characters. Maybe you could go and get one of those? Have a great trip!!!
