I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes. I have a Canon Power Shot S50 digital camera.

My question is does anyone know if you can make changes on your pictures in your computer (such as removing red eye) and then save them back to the memeory card for printing at a store?

Thanks for any help!!!

I utilize Adobe Photoshop Elements to edit all of my pictures. Instead of taking them on the memory card, I simply write them to a CD and take that to the store. I don't know if the memory card would support saving in another format, such as JPG or some other format that the edit program may use.

I have that camera too. Yes, you can download pictures, edit them and then copy them back. There are several ways to do this depending on your machine and your experience. The easiest way for you may be to use the software that comes with the camera.

I took the camera and my laptop with us to WDW last March. At the end of the day, I downloaded all the pictures to the laptop. When I got home, I transferred them all to my computer to edit them.

That said, like SharonS, I prefer to download them, edit them and burn them to CDs. I don't like to leave my expensive flashcard with the store. I print all my digital pictures at my local Eckerd store. They do a great job and it is faster and cheaper than I can do it myself. (Ink cartridges are just too expensive.) Anyway, I like to burn all my pictures to a CD. I also create a seperate directory called "Eckerd." Under that directory, I make subdirectories called "One of Each". "Two of Each", etc... I then copy all of the pictures I want printed to the appropriate directory. The lab techs love this. It also helps me remember what I did when I go back to do my scrapbook pages. (I'm a bit behind!:o )

OK, more info than you asked for. Sorry, I'll be quiet now.

Enjoy your trip!

Debs5angels,

I do this. I modify the file right on the memory card when plugged into my card reader. Then my wife brings the card to print the pictures. The files are already saved in jpg format on my Canon A40.

So I don't see why it wouldn't be possible with your mem card. You'll just need the software to manipulate the pics. This helps us save on CDs also.

We have the same camera also. I use either Photoshop or Canon software (Easy Photo Print Plus) to edit the pictures. The PhotoPrint Plus application doesnt allow you to save the edits though. It just connects you to the Easy Photo Print application to print the images on our printer. I do not take the images anywhere to print. I print them all at home on our Canon photo printer.
