At the Penn State game this weekend, I handed my camera to my friend to take a photo of my son and me. Unfortunately, the camera was on the video setting. The last frame is a great pic of my son and me and I'd love to be able to print it out.

Is there any way to do this (and please, directions must be simple -- I lack computer-finesse)

TIA,
Edie

Do you still have the instruction book that came with your camera? It should be able to tell you.

Well, it really depends... :)

First, you should be able to transfer off the video the same as you transfer your pictures.

From there, you have to use some software to load the video and capture that image. I can tell you now the quality is not going to be very good. You may be able to put it in a signature like here, but I'm not sure that a 4x6 will look very good.

Anyway, to capture the still image, I would recommend getting a demo copy of some video editing software. You can use Ulead VideoStudio (http://www.ulead.com/vs/trial.htm) or Pinnacle (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Education/Trial+Download.htm) Both will be large downloads, but both should allow you to do this.

Windows Movie Maker does not. If it's not too long and you want some help, you can email me the video and I could clip the image for you. I work with both of those pieces of software all the time.

Thank you soooooo much. I did it with the ulead software.

Cool! Of the two, the Ulead is (IMHO) the most flexible and easy to use. I use the Pinnacle software for Video capturing, it does and excellent job.

Good picture!

HP's PowerDVD software that came with my dvdwriter also will do this
