DS b-day is 8/8 and he wants to go to MK of course. It is a Friday so will be crowded, but there is also E-night then. I would like to stay for the extra 3 hours so I know that DS will get on his 2 favorites, Buzz and SM. DH says it's crazy to spend another $46 after paying for FTP.( I think we should save $12 by leaving DH back at the room for E-night:rolleyes: ) I know E-night can sell out, and you must buy your tix at the resort, so it will be hard to try MK and see if DS gets on those things first, if not truck back to CBR hope they have tix...you get the picture...kids are nightowls and I think with the sun down they will be a little more energetic at that time of year....can you pay for E-Night w/ Disney Dollars? I just might be able to pull it off if that's the case!;)

I don't know if you can use your Disney Dollars or not. I would call the resort and ask. If not, is there something that you could save $46 on between now and then and use the money for E-night? Like if you normally would go out to dinner Saturday night, offer to skip going out if you can put the money toward E-night. Another idea, I don't know how old your kids are, but if they're old enough, maybe you could talk your husband into have them do things around the house to "earn" the money for E-night and then they have to treat you. There has to be a way!! E-night is the best.

If your enight is like the one I had it is worth every penny of the $12 per person. I was able to ride splash mountain over and over (not even getting off), etc. Night time is cooler and you can do your favorite rides over and over without waiting. Considering how much you're probably paying to stay at WDW - even on the FT package - that is one thing WELL worth the money to add on to your package. Skip a sit down dinner and do the enight! This was the best time I had in the park while we were there last trip.:Pinkbounc

You said you want to do enight so you know your son will get on Buzz and SM. Why not just be there first thing in the morning and then you will have no trouble getting on those two rides. I would think you could even do them several times over and then get fastpasses for later.

I'm not siding with your DH or you, I can understand why your DH doesn't want to spend any more money outside the package. I am like that also. However, I understand how it's your son's birthday so you want him to have something special. Could the cost of enight be included as part of his birthday present? Maybe you could convince DH with that one.

We always do as many e-nights as are available during our trip, usually two. They are definitely worth the $. Your child will be able to ride his favorites over and over. We started our most recent night with four rides on Space Mountain, then we went to Buzz, then over to Frontierland for multiple trips on Splash and Big Thunder.

If you decide late in the day that you want to do e-night, ask if you can buy tickets at Guest Services or City Hall before you go back to your resort. A couple years ago, we were on the bus to the MK and the driver announced that e-night was not sold out and you could get tickets at the park -- I can't remember which of those places he said, though.

If you are going to do e-night, though, please leave the park and go back to the resort for a break. E-night won't be nearly as much fun if you don't. Even nightowls get tired in the Florida sun. My kids are older than yours and we never do e-night without taking a break.

Thanx guys, luvalladin..we have PS at Chef Mickeys for DS b-day bkfst that day, so I know we will not get to MK early enough to bank on getting those rides for sure...I don't want to rush the kids from that, but otherwise that would be the plan. I know with having 7 /8 days to hit the parks we stand a pretty good chance of getting on these rides, but it sure seems to me like it is going to be SUPER crowded this summer, and we were there over the 4th 2 years ago, and I am MORE worried now! I could prob convince DH that E-night is a gift, DS would be harder on that one;) I think I will go the Disney Dollar route, I have $14 left over from last trip, and I will start a seperate change jar just for E-night, and yes, there is PLENTY of yard work that can be done in exchange! Thanx again for all the help! I am planning on doing it. Do you have to by the tix at your resort, or any? It would be close to run to CR or Poly if we did want to wait to buy them until after being in the park a few hours.

I believe that you can get E-Night tickets at the park in City Hall. You must show proof that you are a resort guest but your FTP ticket will do that. At least stop off at City Hall first to check. E-Night is really nice, I hope you get to go.

I think E nights are totally worth it especially in August when it is really hot! Your son will be able to ride his favorites over and over again! This way you can even take a break during the day when it is the hottest!

Oh, you have to do E-ride night! We were there in May, and it was so much fun! Besides the rides, the characters were out in the hub with no wait at all. My BF and I got to play with Minnie and Mickey!
Once the park closed and e-ride began, I swear things were more fun. The CMs at Haunted Mansion were scarier, we could choose which side of Space Mountain we wanted (always the left, please!), and just keep getting back on Buzz (though even with the practice, I'm still bad at it!). It's just a different experience that everyone should try, in my opinion.

My DH didn't want to e-night, so we left him at the room. It wasn't a fight/argument, but something my DD and I really wanted to do and he didn't, so he told us to go without him. Although our e-night was packed, my DD and I had a wonderful time and capped it off with a cookie from the Main Street Bakery at midnight. I rode the AstroOrbiter for the first time in 20 years!!Priceless memories!

He doesn't have to spend the money for the E-night, but you can with your DS.

Go and enjoy and make him envious about all the fun you had without him!!!

:p

I took 4 kids to E-night on 6/17 because DH and our friends did not want to go. the kids went on Buzz so many times the CM loading the line was joking with them about their glow necklaces and when the line was short he let them go through again without getting off. they really had a great time and it was pretty easy to handle the 4 of them by myself.

I agree with your DH !! We go in "peak" summer time and never have a problem getting in all the attractions and rides in MK--never ever. We hit the parks late (just before noon) and then close 'em down. By 9 pm, the families with small kids are gone and you have Buzz all to yourself. It's great !

What a great way to spend a b'day!!

Dollywood in 2003!
WDW in 2004!

We did Enight last July and it was really awesome! My BDay was after midnight and we were there until 1AM--we waited in front of the castle watching it change colors in an almost deserted park while DH and DD#1 did Alien Encounter!
When the night started, during the fireworks, we headed right to Haunted Mansion. We were the first ENighters there and were the only ones in the stretching room!!!! What an awesome thing at NIGHT!
I would for sure do it again, only the Friday we are there next week is the 4th and of course they don't have one--we will be at MGM that day.

E-night is worth every penny. We've done it three times now and being able to walk-on to every ride and ride things repeatedly is great.

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Power in numbers everyone, his arm is twisting ever so slightly...:p I am figuring we will be participating in our first E-night 8/8/03! I joke about leaving DH behind, but we would only be wishing he were along, especially DS. Now if I'm wrong and the kids don't mind him catching some zzzzz's at the room, that's another story! Also DS asked if his b-day party at home could be at a local war memorial park where there are tanks to play on and military museum...total cost: $3 per car(2 vans loaded with kids) and cake I bake and juice. He is totally into war history and wants to plan a squirt gun battle and treasure hunt around the grounds. Little does he know how helpful his choice is financially. The kids have learned to do without quite a bit over this last year and a half, glad to see they have come out the better for it! Heck, they may even LEARN something at the party!:p

E-Ride night is a fantastic value - more so than Extra Magic Hour. It's like a three-hour Early Entry, except Splash Mountain and Big Thunder are better at night.

On one E-Ride in 2001, I walked from the exit of Splash Mountain through Frontierland to the central hub without seeing another person. The background music was still playing, all of the lighting effects were still going, and no maintenance had begun. For a brief moment, it was just me and the park. I stopped somewhere near the Mercantile, and took a good look around, because it's unlikely to happen again.

Does anyone know if you can get e night tickets if you saty at the DD hotels? I would specifically like to know about the Courtyard. Deb Wills site says yes, but there's no mention of it on the hotel web site.

your son will be so glad you did. My birthday is traditionally in March...but the last few years I have been celebrating it in November whilst in the World! No better place to get old in my opinion!!!
