HELP!!! Desprate Help Needed In The Digital Camera Area!!

ok, I want to take JUST my digital camera to Disney this time....being only going for 4 days, do not want the hassle.

now, I have 2 smartcards to use, which gives me plently of space, but I need to get off of my camera what is on here....and I can't!!!!!!

I have a sandisk and cannot seem to get it going, (I am really dumb when it comes to this ...just do not understand it!)

it is IN my compter ...the program, I forget how to run it!!

my camera is an Olympus d-450 zoom.

any help greatly appricated!!

I have a Sony. When I connect the cable from the camera to the computer, my camera will also show up under 'My Computer' as a drive. Check and see if yours will do the same. Mine just labels it "Sony Memory Stick." I can then click on it and open it like any other drive. Then I can just delete the picture files on the card.

I have a different Olympus digital camera. Mine came with software which is used to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer, and a special cable to connect them together.

Regarding the sandisk, my understanding from some digital photography discussion boards that I have read in the past is that the sandisk cards are of lesser quality than other brands. The brand of choice seems to be Lexar. I cannot personally vouch for this, but after reading it, I decided not to risk my photos so I have only used Lexar. Just something to think about...

What version of Windows are you running? Windows should recognize the Sandisk as just another disk. Do you see it show up in Explorer?

I presume you are speaking of a card reader. Just put the memory card in the slot, open Windows Explorer or My Computer, go to the 'drive' that the card is, probably an E drive, maybe F, and copy the files from the card to your hard drive, and/or a CD. Card readers are great, so simple.

Are you trying to save the pictures to your computer & clear (format) the card OR

are the pictures already saved in the computer & you just want to format the card. ????

I'll walk you thru what you need. If you want....PM me your phone # & I can walk you thru it.

Wow...that's so nice of you to offer! Wish I had the same camera and could "use you" too!!

(I have over 180 pictures on a card because I can't get them to the disk and DH gave our photo printer away!!)

sorry to not have answered! I had a friend come by andwe worked on this for hours(he is excellent with this stuff) and it turns out that there is something "missing" in my files...I have the camera info loaded into my computer and my sandisk loaded into my computer, but we could not get it to go...

my computer crashed last year, and there is something missing because after downloading the files, it still comes up as "no files found"

we tried all sorts of ways to get this to work. He is going to come by again and go into my system and see what it is I am missing.

does this make sence??
