Help, Design Studio freezes after cutting

My Design Studio is freezing after cutting, I have to shut down the program and re-open to make another cut. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? I do not want to update the firmware as I use my cricut more with SCAL than Design Studio.

Don't upgrade! It won't help.

Try clearing some space on your computer. It may just not have enough memory to run. Try not to open too many pages at one time. I find that happens to me. Also when it stops responding, just wait it out. I've found it will recover after awhile and I won't lose my project. I used cds rarely these days because its a pain.

I ended up cutting, shutting down and re-opening CDS after each cut to get the cuts I needed. I will go through and delete some of the projects I have saved and hopefully that will help.
