Title tells it all, we arrived yesterday and today our first day in the parks we started experiencing problems with her wheelchair. It's making a weird noise, almost like crickets and the right motor is getting really hot. At times she can't move.

Need to know of someplace near WDW where we might have them look at it and fix it if possible.

I'm staying at SOG until Jan 3 and then moving into a house in Formosa Gardens. I'll check the board in the morning to see if there are any replies.

Thanks in advance.

I was doing some research and I found this place:

Madden Wheelchair Repair
(407)851-6453
169 Drennen Rd, Orlando, FL

Its supposed to be 14.7 miles from Kissimmee.

Hope this helps.

Check Florida Mobility at 407-826-7466. They are a full service store including repairs for all types of mobility equipment including power chairs. Usually you can reach Alan, the mechanic, at that number. They are near downtown Orlanda a couple of miles off I-4. I have used them for ECV repairs in the past.

The wheelchair rental places at the parks have a mechanic in that might be able to help, but I'm not sure if they can cope with motorised chairs. Might be worth asking there, though, see if they have any advice.

Good luck!

We have used his services several times and think he is awesome. Very reasonable, has loads of spare parts and cheap prices. Has worked on my Jazzy and our Rally. Good luck

You are awesome Cheshire :) We called first thing this morning and went over after picking up fast passes for Expedition Everest (Jackie really wanted to ride it). Our FP time was 2:50 and it was only 10Am so we went and saw Allen. He told my husband that you had called and told him about us. We left the chair with him for an hour and he figured out the problem. It was not something he could fix right away and the part could take over a week to arrive so he rented us a chair very similiar, fixed it so Jackie would drive left handed and moved her seat to it. He gave my husband info about fixing the motor and a name to contact.

Jackie says to tell you "Thank you very much" and my husband is totally amazed that someone from an internet board would go so far as to call and give the repair shop a heads up.

We're in the area until Wed 10 Jan and if you are going to be around the parks we'd love to say thanks in person. Just PM me if this is possible.

Thanks again!!!!
