DD has her favorite 'teddy' who is in real need of a bath. I put him in the washing machine on ultra delicate, but he still looks dirty. It shows, since he's pink. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this bear clean without his arms and legs falling off. :o)

put some bleach in the washing machine

I swear by the stain removal product Zout. It's gotten out stains that nothing else could. When DD has come home from preschool with her clothes covered with who knows what  I've diluted the Zout in a bucket of very hot water (maybe 1/4 cup Zout to 1/2 gallon of water) and let the clothing sit for about a 1/2 hour and then run it through the washing machine. This method has done wonders on clothes it may work on your bear.

I have a Snoopy plush that was filthy. I was going to have it dry cleaned but the lady at the store told me to use Woolite Carpet Cleaning foam. It did a great job.

I got a bottle of teddy-bear cleaner at Build a Bear that worked wonderfully also. (If you have one of those near you) The bottle was right about 5 bucks and all my bears and critters (10+)got a bath and still have most of the bottle :)

Love the Woolite idea too... :)

I used to use an old toothbrush and dish soap, about 1/2 teaspoon of bleach dissolved in gallon water and a little elbow grease. It not only cleaned the plush toy but disinfected the outside, at least. If you are worried about fading the pink, you could use Oxyclean or CloroxII instead of chlorine bleach. It's such a small amount of bleach that I never had a problem with fading.

this is how we wash ours and they come out clean every time. We tie them in a pillow case put clorox 2 in the water and wash it on regular not delicate.

Try putting teddy in pillow case...tie shut and add oxyclean to the wash water. We swear by oxyclean!! I love the stuff.
