Could you please help me understand what would qualify as a snack credit? Particulary at breakfast.....would a bagel, muffin, danish, fruit cup etc and drink count as a snack? We aren't big breakfast eaters so I am hoping this works say at the POFQ food court and similar places. THANK YOU!

Bumping up for you because I am interested as well.
Specifically, I would like to get a definite answer as to what a 'snack" consists of.
I know:
*Water
*Ice Cream

But what else? Is there a certain $$ amount?

When we went in September, we were able to get to get water, ice cream bars, frozen fruit bars, popcorn, and mickey shaped rice krispie treats.

I have read other threads where people are able to get fruit and other things, but I don't know if that is the norm.

Muffins and such do not count as a snack; you would need to use a coutner service credit for this. A single piece of fruit does count as a snack. You can use the following for a snack credit:

novelty ice creams (Mickey bars, etc like at the snack wagons)
soft drink (20 oz bottle or fountain)
Bottled water
popcorn
coffee and hot chocolate
single piece of fruit
rice krispie treat

Don't think I missed anything. On the menu boards, they have a symbol by the items that qualify for the meal plan.

Just wanted to caution about the Mickey shaped rice krispie treats! DH and I had many snack credits left on the last day of our trip a few months ago, and I had read on here that they could be used for the rice krispie treats. We happened to be in the Main Street Confectioners buying candy to bring home to relatives when I saw the Mickey rice krispie treats, so I grabbed a few of them. When I went to pay, I handed the cashier my Disney Dining card and asked her to use the snack credits to pay for the r.c. treats. This woman was very nice but..

ok, I think I'm making a short story long here. I just want to say, You can not use Snack Credits to buy Rice Krispie treats in the candy store on Main Street. LOL We ended up grabbing the treats at Capt Cook's at the Polynesian (that's where we were staying anyway. lol), and were able to use them there. :)

Hopefully this will save someone the time and energy from trying to use snack credits at the Main Street Confectionary :earboy2:

I lost the direct link, but if you go to the Disney site, you can navigate to info on the Dining Plan and get an explanation of how it works and what you can get for each option. There should also be a link to a list of which restaurants are participating and which kind of credit they take.

You just reminded me of something that happened to us at Christmas. My poor son was stuck in an AK food line behind someone who was arguing that the hot dog with fries should count as a snack. They threw a fit and said that five hot dogs would make a meal but one was only a snack!

When we were there in Nov. we were able to get rice crispy treats and cookies at the Main Street Bakery. It has a little emblem on the sign indside the store showing that cookies could be purchased using snack credits. We first went into the confectionary and they told us that you could get the rice crispy treats with snack credits at the Bakery but not the confectionary.

We stayed at POFQ and could get a cookie, piece of fruit, beverage, or rice krispy treat for a snack. Generally the snacks are always under $3.
