We are going to be on the DP for 6 nights and I have pretty much decided on my ADR's I want to make, but I think DH and DS would love Ohana's and that isn't on my list! Between Garden Grill, Askerhaus breakfast, and 1900 Park Fare dinner, which would you drop in order to go to Ohana's? DD who will be 3 will love the princesses, but Askerhaus and 1900 both have princesses. DS and I have been to Garden Grill and we liked it. DS said he would like to go there again, but it isn't a MUST! DD loves Chip and Dale too, and Garden Grill is the only place on our list she can see them. Please help me decide from those 3 ADR's which one to drop in order to go to Ohana's! Our trip is still a ways off, we are just trying to figure out where to go once we can get ADR's. THANKS!

If it were me, I would drop Akershaus. You could go from a practical standpoint and either drop Akershaus or 1900 Park Fare depending on whether in makes more sense for you to be in the MK area or Epcot area twice.

Have fun!

Is there an evening that you will have time to go to the Chip n Dale Sing along at FW to see Chip n Dale? Then you could drop Garden Grill. I think of Akershus and 1900 PF as two totally different experiences and I would have a hard time deciding between them. Not to mention that on the dining plan Akershus is a deal now that they charge so much for it.

I didn't even THINK about the sing a long with Chip and Dale! That is a great idea! What time do they usually do this and is it every night? Thanks for that tip!

Personally speaking, I'd DEFINITELY drop Garden Grill.

According to this, it starts at 7 PM in fall/winter and 8 PM in April through the summer.

We tried to go to it on our last long trip in 2009 and missed it b/c of the nightmare that is FW internal transportation. :rotfl: No matter how hard I try, I always mess up the timing. We made it in time for the movie, but missed the sing along b/c we were getting a take-out chicken "picnic" from Trail's End. I would not recommend this. It took too long to get there via the bus, wait for food, and get the bus back to the campfire. So, the sing along is still on our list of "must trys".

Personally I would drop Garden Grill off that list- I have never had a good experience there; the waitstaff have been inattentive and the food ice cold. Not to mention of our party got "seasick" from going around in circles. Yeah, it was great to see the characters, but now I'll get an ADR for Chef Mickeys.

BUT- If you really like the Garden Grill- the next one I would drop would be 1900 Park Fair. Not that it's a bad choice- I love 1900- but when comparing that to Princess dining in EPCOT, it just falls a little flat.

I know you said you liked it- but would drop GG. The character interaction just doesn't make up for the food if you ask me.

Definitely don't drop 1900- the stepsisters are so much fun to watch and the food is much better than GG.

I love GARDEN GRILL its one of our favorite. I would keep that your DS would enjoy that very much.... I think atmosphere is better than 1900 park fare and character interaction is better.

I would drop any of the 3 to eat at Ohana's :thumbsup2. But we are not talking about me :goodvibes. I would say GG also, like someone said 1900 Park Fare is so much fun the step-sisters are a riot!!!

The downside of 'Ohana is the long wait times...I finally dropped our ADRs for 'Ohana because I can't stand long waits.

I've heard that lots of times however, I must admit we never have had to wait when we go in September. We leave in 1 week and being it is going to be way more crowded then when we have eaten there in September, I'm sure I will find out about the wait. :confused3

sjms - Just noticed your weight loss ticker...WAY TO GO!!!!

Thank you very much!!! It's been a long road, 16 months (doing weight watchers) and I am down to the final 9 lbs. But it's been worth it, I feel awesome!!

Another vote to drop GG, especially if you can make it to the Campfire for the characters instead.

I would dump 1900 PF. We went for dinner with our nieces and had to wait an hour past our ressie time (the CM said it was because the people already seated were done eating but they wanted to see the characters again), the noise level was ridiculous and the food was horrible.

The kicker was when my niece said "We already saw Cinderella today"

We saw her and the Prince in Toon Town, I could have saved the $150 and went somewhere else with better food.

I would drop 1900 simply because Akershus is a princess dinner too and you get to see many more princess then 1900.

A question about the wit time at Ohana's and 1900 Park Fare...Why such a long wait (1 hr. :scared1:), and with an ADR??? if I booked an early dinner, say around 5:00, the wait shouldn't be bad I wouldn't think. DS said he was fine with dropping GG since we have already been there. He will have turned 15 by the time we go, and said this is really his sister's trip (it's his too, just her FIRST!) and whatever makes her happy he is fine with! I think he will get as much joy out of seeing her experience Disney for the first time as me and DH will! :)

I think your son will totally enjoy Ohana. It's a lot of food and if he's like every other 15 year old I know, he can EAT! :) So I say drop Garden Grill and go to Ohana. Save room for the bread pudding! It was my favorite thing there. popcorn::
