I dropped my Iphone in water last week needless to say its gone:sad1: so does anyone know where I can get a cheep Iphone or replacement phone (I can upgrade in the beg. of sept) im so lost without a phone my dh gave me his till we can figure it out thanks guys

Simple go Walmart and get a pre-paid ATT phone and throw out the sim card and slip your sim card in the phone new phone.

Another way is go online ATT Wirless and go to prepaid and pick out the phone and want. When look at are be sure to remove the plan and precde to checkout. When get the phone throw out the sim card and slip your sim card in.

Third option go ebay buy ATT phone.

When you dunk a cell phone in fresh water:

Remove cover and battery and palce in a bag of uncooked rice.

In Saltwater do the same but rinse it in fresh water first...

This may save the phone...

Used Iphones are not too bad in price as folks are saying...

This trick doesn't work as often as it's suggested. Sadly, I know this firsthand.

I tried that it didnt work.. now its in a recovery loop(when I turn it on it tells me to plug into itunes.. I do then it tells me I have to restore it I do.. then afterwards after it tells you ok to disconect I do that and it tells me to plug into itunes again:sad2: it sucks I even took it to a place that fixes water damaged iphone they told me it did damage to the inside only way i can fix it is to refurb the whole thing($150..I cant swing that right now)

If you are going to renew your iPhone contract in September anyway - go to an ATT store (not an authorized reseller) and beg. ATT is desperate to keep iPhon-ers from moving to Verizon right now, they might be willing to work with you. Maybe even say that "Well, I guess I'll start checking out Verizon's plans...." :rolleyes1

Otherwise, see if you can cancel your data plan and just use a Go Phone for a couple of months. Take the SIM card out of the iPhone and pop it into the replacement.

I just spoke with a rep from AT&T. I'm looking to get dh an iphone for Father's Day, even though we're only a year into the contract. She told me that the $49 was the price..new contract or not.

When my iPhone landed in the toilet, Apple sold me a discounted refurb. This was atleast 3 years ago though I don't know if they still do that.

Repeat Repeat don't cancel your apple unlimited data plan nothing in the world. They do not offer unlimited data plans anymore.

This. If you think you'll ever want unlimited data, do NOT cancel it now, even if you have to pay for data that you cannot use for a few months. Those of us with existing unlimited plans are grandfathered in, but once you cancel unlimited data, you cannot get it back. Well, until they change that policy again. :rolleyes1

I have had much better luck getting ATT to do the discounted phone prices by calling 611 than I have by going into the store. I have been with them since 1996 (they were cell one at the time) and have had to do this many times. Good luck, and like everyone said DO NOT CANCEL the data plan!

To the people saying do not cancel the unlimited plan - it really depends on your usage. If you are actually using more then 2GB a month, then don't cancel it. I would advise you to check your last few bills. Many people are surprised when they find out what their actual data usage is. Most people find out they are below 2GB. If that is the case for you, move down to the 2GB plan. You will save yourself $60 a year and $120 over the life of your contract for something you never use. If you find you are under 200 MB a month, you could save yourself $180 a year or $360 over the life of your contract. The savings can really add up. Tiered data pricing really isn't all that bad if it fits your phone usage.

Yes, that's why I said don't cancel it if you think you'll ever want unlimited data. Every day something new comes out that I can access on my phone. If I were below 2GB now, I'd wonder what my usage might look like in 6 months. Will I want to stream movies on my phone? Send HD photos and videos? Stuff like that.

I make sure to take advantage of WiFi when I am out and about. I also use WiFi at home and my job. My data usage averages about 95 MB a month and I never miss out on anything.

i did this the apple store replaced mine for 200$... i know it's alot but at the time my phone was selling for about 700$ used so at least it was better than that... they took the broken unit gave me a new one for the 200. the rice trick didn't work i also froze it i mannaged to only have one water sensor go off because the phone was in an otter box and it was only under water for 2 seconds but even with my super case 2 seconds was all it took.
