I use bleach on berber. Doesn't turn it white. My sister had berber way before me and she told me she used bleach to get a red wine stain out of her carpet. Someone had told her it does not bleach it out because the fibers are the actual color - not dyed that way.
When we had berber put in our house, I took a scrap of the leftovers and poured bleach on it to do a test. It worked - no white bleach spots.
