Hi there,

I've been searching for ages on the net but can't find the answer to this question:

How many languages has Disney translated their animated movies into?

A big, fat 'THANK YOU' will go that special person who can answer!

(Oh, by the way, I know the answer is already 'a lot'. Cheers!)

I think it depends on each movie.

Also, sometimes it's translated into one language, but they have dubbed it twice. For example: there are 2 Dutch versions of the movies, one in "Dutch-from-the Netherlands" and one in "Flemish-Dutch".
The "Disney" movies come out in Belgium in the theater in Flemish-Dutch, but on the DVDs is only the Netherlands-Dutch. The Pixar movies however have both Dutch versions on the DVDs.

I can only imagine they do the same in German (German language sounds different in Germany, Austria and Switzerland), an dprobably in many other languages too.
Also, because they then use "local celebrities" to do the voices, this attracts more people to see the movie, not to see the movie per se, but to hear their favourite voices.

Good luck in finding out in how many languages they are translated.
(btw, next to being dubbed, they are also sub-titled)
