I just came from Easter vigil tonight (not Catholic though but Episcopalian)
Me too!
Long because it includes many readings, renewal of baptism vows, Prayers of People, hymns, a sermon, and communion. I loved the lighting of the Paschal Candle and when we all lit our candles from it.
Ours was very long too, of course. But it's such a moving service! I love the candlelight and the solemnity of it.
I'm one of the lay readers tomorrow and it's going to be a big crowd!
We're going tomorrow too because DH is an acolyte (AKA the world's oldest altar boy
). I was one of the readers tonight -- the Valley of Dry Bones and Psalm 30. I read on Thursday too, but I don't think I'm reading tomorrow. We've been going non-stop since the Chrism Mass on Wednesday, but it has been truly a special week!
Happy Easter!
That was very strange.
