Help! Calling all well versed Catholics!

I just came from Easter vigil tonight (not Catholic though but Episcopalian)

Me too! :)

Long because it includes many readings, renewal of baptism vows, Prayers of People, hymns, a sermon, and communion. I loved the lighting of the Paschal Candle and when we all lit our candles from it.

Ours was very long too, of course. But it's such a moving service! I love the candlelight and the solemnity of it.

I'm one of the lay readers tomorrow and it's going to be a big crowd!

We're going tomorrow too because DH is an acolyte (AKA the world's oldest altar boy  ). I was one of the readers tonight -- the Valley of Dry Bones and Psalm 30. I read on Thursday too, but I don't think I'm reading tomorrow.

We've been going non-stop since the Chrism Mass on Wednesday, but it has been truly a special week!

Happy Easter!

I'm an ordained Lutheran minister and I can't imagine why that would be the case???

In the Lutheran Church the Easter Vigil is the highest day of the Christian calendar!

Aside from being the longest liturgy of the Church year, it is also the first at which the body of Christ proclaims, "He is Risen," "He is Risen Indeed."

Amen from another Lutheran minister -- ELCIC from southern Ontario!! The congregation I now serve does not celebrate the Easter Vigil, and part of me really misses it. Have a blessed Easter!!

Our Mass tonight was 2 hours and 20 minutes and I LOVED every minute of it. It is without a doubt my favorite ceremony of the church year. We had two adults receive RCIA.

When we were outside the church and around the fire, we commented that it was colder out tonight than it was Christmas Eve at Midnight....:( That was very strange.

Happy Easter All

Ah, good reading-"Dry Bones". I am doing the second reading tomorrow and also the Prayers of the People. I'm thrilled to be reading on Easter.
That's funny about your DH. I'm not an acolyte but I will be a Chalice Bearer in the near future. :)

And a blessed Holy Triduum to all!
