help! budget car hire at MCO deposit

hi,

we have just recieved our travel documents and car hire voucher only to find we have been booked a car through budget at MCO. now the dilemma is that we dont have a credit card. it states that they accept debit cards at some locations but it isnt clear if this is one of the locations. we usually use alamo and leave a $200 cash deposit and it gets returned on taking the car back but on reading some posts on other sites budget have done this but dont return the deposit they mail a $ cheque. we are currently onto our travel agent to try to change our booking to alamo but if they want to charge for this its not an option. so in essence i need to know if anyone has used a debit card for security deposit as everything else is prepaid. we are from the uk.

Check with your TA. The rules for a UK renter are different the the rules for a US citizen. Debit card policies are likely to be different.

My understanding is your rate includes a tank of gas and damage waivers. The coverage may either be from the rental agency or a different policy through your TA.

It's possible the debit restrictions imposed on US renters might not be applicable to your.
