YAY! Dbf is now Dfi! See my thread "He asked me to marry him" on the community board.

Now on to the good stuff. We will be, naturally, honeymooning in WDW. We are planning an October trip and would LOVE to stay at the BC. Actually we'd love for our first night to be a room at the CR in the tower with a MK view, and then spend the other days at the BC. We want a 7 day trip.

WHAT DO I DO? Do I call Central Reservations and start bugging them for the best room-only code rates? Do we try for a FLA resident rate (my little sis has FLA res status as she is enrolled in college there with residential status). Do I book a room now at rack rate (if that is all that is available) or the AAA rate (we are members) and keep my fingers crossed that a code come sout between now and then? If so, do I just call up when a code comes out and "update" my reservation for the differnece in price?

Help me make my WDW honeymoon dreams come true!!

You go ahead and book the most expensive room on property, tell your fiance to pay the bill, then proceed with your divorce..

I'm just about to leave for my honeymoon and i would HIGHLY suggest you take a breif look at the POFQ. No they dont have some of the amenities of the resorts you mentioned but it is quite a romantic setting and saving 50% for the "other things" you may want after the honeymoon, or (my favorite) extending your honeymoon a few days on the money you saved may be a great option.

Just my 2 cents, if you have you heart set on one place, go there.

I would book at AAA rate now so you definitly have the room, and then hope for a code to save you some money.

Most importantly ENJOY YOURSELVES :wizard: pixie dust right at you!

Chris

We stayed at POFQ back in 2000 (our first vacation together) and loved it. My parents are paying for the honeymoon as our wedding gift and have instructed us to go "all out". Love those people! So we would like to try a new place. I've always wanted to stay at the CR, ever since I was a little girl. Watching the monorail glide through it...the proximity to MK. And as I got older I fell in love with the BC.

DH and I went to disneyworld on our honeymoon also, and debated between GF and YC...we decided to go w/YC and LOVED it. I would suggest getting concierge also since your parents are paying...BC is a great choice. We loved the area, every night we'd walk to the Boardwalk for dessert (or Beaches and Cream of course). You can check prices and availability on the disneyworld website also...see what you're looking for check different hotels, then call for reservations...thats usually how we do things also. Congratulations!!

I would see if you can snag a MK view room on the 14th floor of the CR for that first night, that would be picture perfect, and then move to a water view room at the BC. Since this is a honeymoon, and everything should be perfect, and has to be planned ahead, little flexibility on the dates, etc, I would go ahead and book it at rack or AAA rate for right now, so that you have a room for sure no matter what, and then keep checking on the codes. I think in order to get the FL resident rate, your sis would have to be listed on the reservation, and would have to be there with you at check-in, but if that's not too much trouble, might save a lot of money.

DW2B & I are honeymooning in Oct. We originally wanted GF, but noticed we could stay at POFQ for $2,000 less :earseek: we agree w/ChrisNif POFQ is a very romantic resort. We stayed there last May, loved the atmosphere and that is why we chose it again (well that and the money we were saving, but its a great choice too!!). We booked ours through AAA and saved $400 with them. With the money we are saving by not staying @ GF we are doing the Chef's Table @ V&A, as well as some other "nice extras" we otherwise wouldn't have afforded.

Good luck to you!! :wave2:

We actually booked our honeymoon through Dreams Unlimited. We didn't have to worry about getting the best rate as our dreams agent did it for us. She also made all of our priority seatings and booked our illuminations cruise. I would highly recommend going through them.

BTW, we stayed for 10 nights and split between the BC and the Poly. It was magnificent!

Congratulations!!!!!!

That's probably not a bad idea. You're gonna have enough to worry about planning a wedding. I would seriously consider DU for this.

Since money is no object, I would go with concierge in a deluxe resort. An Illuminations Cruise is also in order.

Don't forget about BWI concierge, too.
