I know this seems like a weird question, but let me explain. My DD is used to sleeping with a humidifier. I considered buying a noise machine to bring to WDW so she would have some 'white noise'. But then I thought that if the bathroom has a fan, I can turn that on to give her some white noise while she is falling asleep.

That would save me from going out to find a noise machine and from hauling the dumb thing down there.

Thanks to anyone who can answer.

Good idea OP! :goodvibes: The timer thing kinda stinks :( Anyone else sure on this?

If I remember correctly, there MIGHT be one, but we had brought a small room spray just in case ;)

There is a fan in the bathroom, but first, it does turn on and off on its own even if the light switch is on. Secondly, you would have to leave the door open and the light on which won't help with sleeping, and even then, over the A/C you probably wouldn't hear it. With the door closed, you don't stand a chance of hearing the fan.

I just read somewhere yesterday that someone turned their radio on low to an "off" station and the static worked great as "white noise."

Well.....guess this isn't going to work. The radio idea would probably work, but I'll still have to go buy one (all ours are to big to take) and then haul it down there.

I'll figure something out. I'm sure DD will be so tired from all the fun that she will just crash at night, but I'm trying to do everything I can to make sure she is well-rested during the trip.

Thanks everyone!

Brookstone and Sharper Image make a travel sized white noise machine. We love ours for travelling---wouldn't leave home without it. Once you get used to one, it's hard not to have it. However, last trip dh forgot to pack it (this could be a vent, but I'll bite my tongue)--instead we left the a/c unit running all night long on the fan setting. That worked well too.

Clare,

Our DD and DS are the same way. They need a little white noise. We tried the bath fan last year @ FQ but, like others have said, they don't stay on or provide enough noise. We are leaving tomorrow and have ordered a fan (among other items from wegoshop.com). I asked and the cost of the fan is like $10 and we just plan on leaving it there. That way no transporting something back and forth.
