Help!! ANTS everywhere!!!

Terro Ant Kill is what we used a few weeks ago and the ants are no more. They came in this convenient bait form too!

I have ants too! We just started noticing it about 2-3 weeks ago!! I have these things!! I scream every time I see one!! I don't know where they are coming from...And we have tried the baits--two different kinds and they are not working!! We tried the Raid brand once before and they seem to work but that was over a year ago! My neighbors are neat freaks and they had ants too and the baits seem to work for them...After reading all this, I am debating which Terro to try? The bait or liquid formula? I have kids so I am really worried about the liquid formula. How does it work? Do you just put some on some paper and just put it in various spots?

I use grits or cornmeal because since it is a food the ants
take it back to there Queen and when they eat it and drink
water it makes the grits swell and they die from this.

We have the liquid and just put a drop on the cardobard they provide. And than watch the ants flock to it, we were getting a bunch of them so I put down another piece close by to provide a open space for all the ants to gather. Than in a couple of days no more ants.

You would only put them where you are seeing the ants that way they don't have to wander around looking for it. They will bring the poison back to the colony. Hopefully that is out of reach from your children. Not sure how old they are but we just told DD who is 8 to never go near or touch anything that looks like this, they are orange pieces of cardboard, because it is posion.

Continue to watch the drops because you might have to refill it depending on how many ants you have marching in.

This thread is great. I've got the tiny black ants magically appearing everywhere from the furnace room to the bathrooms & even the living room as they search out the ever ellusive furball deposited during the night despite how hard it is to climb the berber rug. (Double gross ) I'm afraid to try the ant killers except behind furniture and sealed off rooms as think my cat licked it last year after I sprayed some intruders and had an interesting 6 hours afterward.

I had some success with bait traps after that, but it might just have been that they stopped coming on their own.

I'll try the mint tea or cinnamon trick around the edges of the room. Problem is I'll vacume it up and have to invest in the stuff.

I spray Raid for ants and spiders around the cracks of the house.

To tidy up a trail of ants going through the house, I spray them with Windex! The alcohol in the windex pops them and they die. I wipe them up with a paper towel and now my counters and floors are clean!

A friend told me that ants will die from citrus spray. She meant real lemons and oranges. I always use the real citrus spray for room deodorizing, so I sprayed that on them when they are on my counters....I hated to think of ant spray on my kitchen counters....and it kills them instantly. I do use baits at what I think are enrty points, but I like the natural spray for quick results. I usually have 2-3 infestations/year. I hate it, but at least now I can fix it.
