Hi -

Does anyone know of any more inexpensive airfares from phily to orlando April 17=25? DH and I are headed down to celebrate with our family (cousins) who are taking a Make a Wish trip for their Son ( just finished his chemo).

THanks so much!!

Wendy

I couldn't find anything under $200 round trip. The best I could find was Southwest, but the return flight time isn't the best (leave Orlando at 8 am).

PHL - MCO 4/17 5:15 pm
MCO -PHL 4/25 8 am total is $202.50 round trip with all the fees.

The best fare I could find on kayak.com is $225 round trip on AirTran, but that doesn't include bag or seat fees.

Have you considered booking each leg separate? Maybe it would be cheaper to book Southwest for PHL to MCO and AirTran for the way back?

Unfortunately SW's prices are about 50% above what they have been the last few years (guess I wlill be driving next visit).

Can you get to Atlantic city airport? Some times Spirit Airlines has decent fares.

Also Airtran flies out of AC now too. Worth trying.
Do you have to return on Sunday? That's usually the most expensive return day.

$200 is still a bargain compared to driving.

Try Air Tran out of Allentown it is only about 1 hour drive for you and the airfare starts at 69.00 each way it is non stop. They have one flight a day. I have used them and have had no issues.

all great ideas! Yes, we could get to AC - Allentown is also doable. We are just spoiled going out of |PHL because we live 5 minutes from the airport and could be dropped off by friends/family. I agree that southwest fares seem a bit higher, but i havent really flown to florida with them in the springtime. Do you think there is any chance a ding could happen????

There is a 'chance' but I wouldn't count on one. Dings for PHL/MCO are few and far between. Many times the Dings prices are higher than the reg price I already paid. Driving to an airport and parking really isn't so bad. I prefer it so I don't have to bother anyone and if there are weather delays, (like my parents' Fri flight from FLL cancelled until Monday) I know my car will be there waiting for me. There is indoor parking offsite from PHL at PreFlight Parking. They also have outdoor but it's nice to know if you're flying during winter, they have options so your car doesn't get buried.
