I have been planning this trip for my son, his fiance and her 4 year old and another couple. My son's fiance and her child as well as the other couple have never been to WDW before so I got the deluxe dining plan and was planning on eating at some signature restaurants.

Well I just found out that the 4 year is a very picky eater - basically just chicken nuggets. I know that most restaurants have grilled chicken breast if they don't have chicken nuggets but it isn't the same to a 4 year old.

Does anyone know if you can take in a meal from someplace else or can you ask if they can substitute chicken nuggets. Or do I just need to re-think my whole trip. This trip is really for the 4 year old so I don't want to force anything.

Please help - anyone ever had a similar experience?

I haven't had the same experience, but DDs and I are vegetarian. And from that experience, I can tell you that most table service restaurants are very accommodating. If they can't find something for the 4 year old, try asking the waitperson what is available. Le Cellier made a grilled cheese (they gave us a choice of breads and cheeses) for my younger DD when there wasn't anything else on the kids' menu that she would eat.

At buffets, I don't think that they will have a problem with so much to choose from. The kids have so much to choose from - there is usually a kid buffet (at kid level, with things like mac and cheese, etc.) My younger DD was often happy with bread and fruit.

I definitely wouldn't rethink your entire plan. Check the menus at allears.net.

If this trip is for the 4 year old I would not be picking signatures since those meals are going to be 90-120 minutes each.

I'd look at the menus and then make some choices based on the menus. Since there is no "to go" options, you really need to find menus that will work.

I would offer the picky eater the choice of eating what is served or going hungry. That solves the problem for most picky eaters.

The poster is not the picky eater's parent and probably doesn't get to make that decision. Sounds like someone's simply trying to make it a more pleasant experience for everyone, rather than changing this child's eating habits over the course of a few days.

OP, when I went with family members who had a similar issue, we found that many restaurants offered items that were not listed on the menu. For example, I'm pretty sure Ohana had a peanut butter sandwich available. You might want to contact those restaurants ahead of time and see what off-menu options there are.
