Help! 4th or 5th week of August or 1st week of December?

Just wondering what the crowds and weather are like either the 4th or 5th week of August or the first week of Dec. We've gone the last three trips in October and loved it. I've been in mid August but that was about 8 years ago and I can't remember what the crowds were like. I am trying to decide when to book our 2007 trip for. We love the fall but dd7 is an all-star cheerleader and if we go in the fall we may miss practice close to a competition since our competion season usually starts the end of Oct. This past year she was gone for 10 days and it was just 2 weeks before our first competition. I think we would be ok the first week of Dec. and either way I'll have to take her out of school but I'm not sure which to book and I'm planning to call this week to go ahead and book it. Would love anyone opinion on which week to pick?

Last year we went the last week of August and everything was fabulous! It was so magical, in fact, we are booking our trip this year for the last week of August also-this time a surprise trip for 6 adults and 3 kids. We decided we did not want to go any other week-the last week of August was just perfect-in every way!

Thanks, I couldn't remember how crowded August was and we've gotten used to low crowds going in Oct.

The last week of August is wonderful! Very low crowds since the FL kids are back in school. Just be prepared to drink lots of water because it will be very hot!

1st week of December is great!! Managable crowds plus the Christmas decor is in full swing! Late August is good too, but it is still very hot.

I'd definitely choose the 1st week of Dec., rather than Aug. If you've never seen WDW in its Christmas finery, that in itself is worth going in December. Not to mention you wouldn't have the sweltering heat to contend with. (Maybe you don't mind the heat though?? I'm totally worthless when it gets hot and humid. )

I would choose any other time besides during the summer... I've gone several times in the summer as a kid... and went off season in March for the 1st time last year-- I don't think I'll ever go back in July or August!!
