Help! $2500 for 6!!

For 300ish you can camp at the fort, and then you don't have to worry about paying for parking. Just bring a good ol crock pot. Put your meals in it in the morning and when you return you'll have a nice fresh hot meal waiting for you.

Sounds more like my kind of plan. And with so much to do at the fort over a regular hotel, you probably could cut off a couple park days from the tickets.

We have decided to go Dec. 11-18th. We are gettting YES tickets.
Here is the breakdown
Yes tickets $950
Lodging $600-Bonnet Creek, 2br off ebay
driving-$350 gas, reward points for hotels to and from orlando
food-500
parking-60- we might take shuttle
total $2460
I also have about $300 in rewards from our chase card that I am going to use for extra's

Thanks for all the advice.

Good job!!!!! You are going to have such a great time!

You will love Bonnet Creek! Its a great resort! Make sure you plan for some pool/resort time!!!!! Great job staying in your budget!!!!!

I'm not sure if the YES tickets will go up in price or not with the supposed hike on August 1. Also, be prepared if the YES tickets don't happen, just in case.

Finally, make sure about resort taxes and any fees at Bonnet Creek that you may have to pay.

Enjoy your trip!

I think she is signed up for a yes group rather than guessing at an open enrollment.

Yeah!!! Good for you. Sounds great. You will be coming just as I am leaving. I would love to try a Yes group one of these times. For now, we went with free dining. Have fun! It is a very magical time to go from what I understand.

I have already been put in a group for my YES tickets and they will be bought soon. Bonnet Creek is already paid for and $600 is the total fee.

We have 4 children, ages 5,8,9, and 12. We would like to stay 7 days but could do 5. We are looking at the Nov. 27th-Dec. 4th. The tickets are what is killing the budget. I heard about the YES program ( 5 day tickets for $158 per person) but really don't much about it.

We would be willing to stay off site but I am scared to take that leap! Thanks for all the suggestions.

Look into the YES Program. That will get you the cheapest tickets by far!! Plus it sounds like a great opportunity for the kids. If you stay offsite and do the yes program and cook at least one meal a day, and drive you will be under budget for sure.

We drive from northern Illinois and it is fine. A little tiring, but not bad.

Give the kids a set amount of souvenier money and put it on a gift card so they can decide how to spend it. Have them do chores or something to earn the money and do it ahead of time so it doesn't affect the vacation budget.

Stay onsite with free dining, two value rooms and base tickets.

Windsor Hills $450 total.

Food budget $600. This included Crystal Palace Breakfast, many counter services at the parks and DTD, $196 in groceries bought at Target there for the condo [we also took some groceries to the beach following week]...breakdown is here. http://tntwalterdisneyworld.blogspot.com/2009/06/budget-meal-planning.html

Tix $1000 for 7 day base pass for 3 adults 2 kids.

Parking Fees 7 parks 7 days $14 per day [you can enter and exit without having to re-pay]. $98.

We drove straight through from Noblesville [just north of Indy] with planned stops along the way. We slept at rest areas both ways for a little bit. Found nice parks, had a nice meal, etc. I think budget for food and gas was $250. If you want places, I'm happy to find info and post.

That's just about $2300...leaving you some wiggle room.

Forgot to add souveniers....we spent under $100 total for all 3 kids. They loved what they picked out and had fun. My oldest is thrifty and always enjoys a challenge.

I hope you are planning on eating the majority of your meals in your condo. It's very hard to feed a family of 6 at Disney for a week on $500. We also have Chase rewards and I use giftcards for dinners offsite. That might help your food budget.

Could I ask if you had a special rate code for Bonnet Creek? I have checked them out, but the prices were double that for me.

ebay has a ton of them for about 5-7 for about 5 nights. Some are 3 bedrooms too.

Not sure if you can swing it or not, but everytime I go grocery shopping, I throw in a $25 gift card, you can start doing that for places to eat such as Olive Garden, subway, etc. I do this, so one, I always have a birthday gift on hand, and second, I can use it for Christmas to give away or spend on someone. I plan on doing this after the holidays towards our Disney trip next year.
