Help! 12 year old son is wondering things to do!

I don't know if your ds will like these ideas or not but... My husband is alot like what your describing and if you have a car I saw they have an al capone dinner show, pirate diner show, midevial dinner show. Swimming with dolphins at discovery cove would be cool too. those are all off site and have never tried any of them would love your son's and you to post reviews on what you choose.

My DS 11 is new to VMK and loves it. How do we 'find' it in the parks? Maybe he knows...
To the OP: my son lives for Disney and cannot wait to go back! Your son really will enjoy being with family and will get into the Disney experience. Promise.

1.) Swim with the sharks at Typhoon Lagoon (or more like, snorkel above them, but it's still great)

2.) He can take a surfing lesson there as well! That's extra, before the park opens

3.) Rent a water sprite or go bass fishing on the lake

4.) coming from a gamer geek myself, disneyQuest is touch or go. The really cool things had long lines, and everything else is not much more than you'd find at a quality arcade in a large city. My vote would be Innoventions instead, which is at least free. Let him go nuts and watch ut for that Sega logo.

5.) He'd probably LOVE La Nouba, if he's really into music, and that's good for the whole family. Parts of it are "like a funky, mellower NIN", and you can tell him that came from a rock station radio DJ.

6.) The games area after Mission: Space. They're world interactive, so he can even play against people in the park from home.

7.) Ice Station Cool (Club Cool now?) in Epcot. be sure to ask a CM about which one is the REALLY nasty one and slip it to him. yeah, I'm cruel.

8.) The magic shop on PI (someone correct me if I'm wrong on where it is). They do demonstrations and such there, not to mention learning magic tricks is always fun.

My DS is 12 and he LOVES Disney Quest and the water parks (he prefers Typhoon Lagoon). His favorite rides are Test Track, Star Tours, Dinosaur, and Space Mountain.

He doesn't like the character meals anymore. We usually only go to one or two. If they are buffet, he's happy. He can put up with Pooh if it means being able to pick what he wants to eat!!!

He won't go anywhere near anything remotely Princess themed or girly. I have been tormenting him for our upcoming trip by saying things like, "Oooh....I only have 99 more days til we eat breakfast w/ the princesses!!!" (we're not doing that...but it's fun to torture them a little bit! )

We're going during Star Wars Weekends and that is an absolute blast for him. It really depends on what your child is "into".

HOw funny!! I guess the funny part is we are doing the princess breakfast because of my DD9! He would have liked Star wars weekend but DH was fortunate to just get a summer vacation. Doesnt seem like theres anything special when we go. But just being there will be special.

Sharks! Do you see him yet. He should probably be running by you right about now. I had already told him about that and well it's a no. I checked the dates on La Nouba and I don't think it's going on while we are there. Magic tricks...that is right up his alley. I will check that out. Thanks for so much info.

Thanks!! Someone had told me he would be to old. So I asked him and he said "Snap! Disney? To old? Never!" I believe what you say about being with family.
