Anyone else psyched about this??

I remember thinking how stupid the show was the first episode last year. Next thing I knew, I had watched every single episode of the season.

It's a guilty pleasure, no doubt, but it sure is fun to watch!

Oh yeaahhhhh. I love me some Gordon Ramsay. Although, one of the previews made it appear that he threw a plate of food at Mr. Tall-Dark-and-French (Jean-Pierre?), and that, I don't like.

I got hooked on Gordon a few years ago while watching his show on the BBC -Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares...or something like that. He'd go into a failing restaurant with almost no clientele, and he'd whip everyone into shape and have the dining room packed with customers within a short span of time. It really showed you how a master chef's mind works.

Although he's always been a demanding perfectionist who doesn't mind slinging profanities, he seems to have gotten a bit more theatric and over the top for Fox - which I'm sure they don't mind.

I haven't seen it before, but I was thinking of watching it tonight since I'm home sick. I did get into Top Chef on Bravo and liked it a lot. For anyone who's seen both, how do the two shows compare? :confused3

The new season of Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is on BBC-America now. It's excellent! I like it when he turns a failing restaurant around, and I like it even more when he finds a restaurant that can't be saved, no matter what he does. They kicked the new season off with a Memorial Day marathon of all of the previous Ramsay stuff that's been on BBC. I TiVo'd it all, so I'm all about the Ramsay right now.

It really shows how much more there is to running a restaurant than just being a good cook. My brother runs a bar, and he says it's the same thing there; everybody that drinks thinks they have what it takes to open a tavern. But it's not that easy.

I'll be watching Hell's Kitchen tonight for sure!

I adore Gordon Ramsay - I tell DH he's my TV boyfriend.

I can't wait to watch Hell's Kitchen tonight. I've been Tivo'ing old episodes of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which are really good. I think the new season starts Wednesday for that show.

I'd love to see him do an Iron Chef competition!

I thought Hell's Kitchen was a lot better than Top Chef, although a lot depends on what you think about Gordon Ramsay. Top Chef had too many bogus "stunts" for my liking, like making dinner out of food bought at a convenience store.

The things Hell's Kitchen's contestants are put through just seemed more like what you'd face in a real restaurant. One time the team that lost a challenge were forced to the prepare evening's meal in a kitchen with the A/C turned off. It got well over 100 degrees in there. That seemed a little unrealistic, but I watched a show about Ramsay opening a new restaurant in England, and his A/C wasn't working either. If anything, his restaurant was hotter.

I got hooked on this show last year as well!!! That man is a bit of a lunatic and I love it!!!! :happytv:

I'll be watching it tonight too! I loved his theatrical hysterics, expecially over the risotto. How many bowls of risotto did he "plate" onto someone's chest? I don't think anyone can make risotto up to his standards!

That's it! Shut it down!!

:happytv:

I am SOOO excited!

I had a terrible morning- power went off so I woke up late, dog was sick in the middle of the night, awful traffic, torrential rain, yada-yada-yada- I heard the radio advertisement/reminder on my way in and it was like the clouds parted (well, it's still raining) and my day improved right there!

I love Gordon Ramsay and I loved last year's show!

No guilty pleasure here, I admit it happily! :teeth:

Maybe you should turn this into an official discussion post?

I'm really pumped now, I just realized it's on for TWO hours! Anyway, for the other Gordon Ramsay fans, he's going to be on Regis & Kelly this Friday. Set your Tivo's!

Didn't see this thread and had started another - We are watching, loved last year.

That sweaty guy - gross! Barely in the kitchen and sweating all over the food. :crazy2:
