You know, I loved Season 1. Then, while watching Season 2, I had to stop b/c I felt so badly for those chefs. Ramsay is just incredibly cruel to the chefs. I honestly don't see a need to constantly swear at people or humiliate/demean them. It's just unnecessary. I find it abusive and can't stand when someone is so demeaning to others.

Maybe it's that way in kitchens across the US and UK ... but I don't want to have to watch people get verbally beaten up on television. I'll take Top Chef any day of the week!!!!

I don't think it's that bad in many top kitchens here in the U.S., but I can't stand Top Chef. Completely unimaginative crap cooking.
I love Gordon...love his UK shows that they replay on BBC America. He's not as evil as he is on Hell's Kitchen.

I love the faux outrage that the restaurant guests bring in. Like they all aren't sitting there praying that they'll be discovered.

I love this show! He yells and curses but I always have the feeling that he genuinely WANTS the contestants to be successful - he wants them to learn something.

Personal chef my shoe. Honey, microwaving a few Kid Bites Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets and mixing some good old Kraft Mac and Cheese, doesn't make you a chef.

I like him on the show where he comes in and revamps the kitchen, changes the menu, etc. Can't recall what the name is, but he's certainly not as vile on that show as he is on Hell's Kitchen.

While Top Chef may not be the best cooking in the world, the chefs aren't cursed out or humiliated by the judges! Sure, a guest chef might criticize the dishes but he's never calling them a "F#&$ donkey" or screaming his lungs out at them.
