Hi WISH friends!!! I hope you all are doing well. I have only had a chance to read a dozen or so posts, but am glad to have a small opportunity to catch up a little. As you can tell, we made it to the US, we had two great flights (thanks British Air) and a loooong 5 hour layover at Heathrow, but we arrived safe and sound even if we were thoroughly exhausted.
It has been a busy week and DS and I are still working on kicking that old jet lag. DS is having a harder time as he has been a little under the weather, but we are in the US so all is good. I am happy to report that I am making decent choices and even though I am not making it to the gym I am walking miles and miles and with the exception of today (my niece's graduation party) I have been staying within my points. I weighed myself at my MIL's the day after I arrived and I weighed the same on her scale fully clothed that I did on my scale in my birthday suit and almost a week later I weighed in today and was down one pound. Not sure how accurate the scale is because it took me getting on and off 4-5 times to get two of the same readings (the other readings were less). But I feel good and even if it isn't right I feel like I am doing okay. I am not going to claim any official weight loss until I am back in Italy and on my own scale. Plus I still have three more weeks of tempting choices to get through!! LOL.
I have to comment on a few things before I go, one is I am so amazed at the choices at the grocery stores here as opposed to Italy, when I walked into the grocery store the other day I thought I was in heaven. My new favorite treats are WW (2 point) flying saucer ice cream sandwiches...sure wish I could bring some back in my suitcase. Also, a while back there was a bathing suit thread and some one posted about Land's End merchandise being available in Sears, someone else posted that they weren't available in NY, I was so disappointed to read that, but I am happy to say here in my part of NY they do carry the Land's End line, it must be selected areas, (but I still didn't find a new suit I liked
) I have been shopping a little and I tell you, it is a different world being able to shop in regular stores as opposed to plus size stores, the choices are more plentiful and I have been discovering stores I have never ever shopped in. I have also been fortunate to have a sister on WW who is nearing goal and who saved two large garbage bags filled with clothes for me, so I am sporting a bunch of new duds that actually fit and are not baggy so I am feeling good.
Well, this post has turned into a mini book, so I will close for now. I miss my WISH friends and I wish you continued success and a great week. I will check in when I can (hopefully tomorrow!)
