I have hangnail trouble all the time! It sucks so bad and they can be very painful. I seem to have at least one or two at all times. Sorry to hear you have them too. I have been thinking about seeing if there are any lotions or anything to help prevent them.

Sorry to hear you're so sick Jazz. That's no fun. You should not feel guilty about calling in sick once after nearly 3 years! I have been having to call in almost every week since I've been pregnant cause it seems like there's always something up. So don't feel bad. Hope you start feeling better soon.

I remeber those days, don't miss them at all. I used to work in a "mans" field (electrician, before I got laid off). I would have to call in about once a month, even after my son was born. Between check ups for me, well baby for junior, and sickness between the two kids I missed a lot of work. The guys couldn't understand why I was missing so much work. My arguement was "I have a family and kids", they were all "So do we", me "Yeah, but you guys have wives that handle most of these calls, I AM the wife". duh, men.

For dinner tonight I'm making chicken and dumplings. Haven't decided on if I'm going to crock pot it or stove top it. I should make up my mind soon or I'll only have one choice.

I have salsa chicken in the crock pot. Care to share your chicken and dumplings for the crock?

Oh man, oh man! Chicken and dumplings sounds divine. If I didn't want to stand up long enough to make anything I would totally try this all on my own tonight. YUM!

Thanks Andrea  It's hard. I've taken a lot of pride in being the most reliable person on our team since I've been on it. I never call in sick when everyone else does every other week it seems like it. I probably wouldn't be feeling so guilty about it if it weren't for the fact I just found out one of my co-workers is going through something really awful right now and will be out all week. It's just not good timing.

Currently yes. When I walked out the laundry room on sunday I screamed OMG there is crap everywhere. It was coming out of the sewer thing. It was right outside our bathroom window. It was so nasty. I called the landlord and let him know about the fecal matter but they did not get a plumber out until yesterday. Dh and I made a lot of jokes that are similar to ones in Christmas vacation. We did not use our bathroom all weekend we went to our neighbors house and for number 2's we went to McDonalds. It was quit the weekedn it did not help that Brian was sick the whole time.

Oh man I cannot even imagine!! What an absolute nightmare.

Yes, the boards are an addiction...but I can think of worse ones to have. :)

How's everyone today? I'm OK, woke up feeling icky but I'm better now. I was fighting a migraine earlier, but it seems to be gone now. :) I'm going to do some laundry today, woo hoo fun.......NOT! lol :laundy: it's my life.....LOL Just have 1 load tho, just need to wash some sweatshirts and jeans really. :) Thinking about dinner, can't decide what to make tho. I think I'll work on some jewelry in a bit and I started a book last night on my Nook, so far it's good. It was a freebie. :) It's called Enchanting the Lady, it's a fantasy title by an author I've never ready before. It sounded good tho. :) And maybe, just maybe I'll come back by here before this thread hits page 70!! ROFL!!!

That's what I keep saying about my Disney addiction: it could be much, much worse!!

I'm glad you're feeling better after an icky start to the morning. I keep hoping my day will go that route. At least I'm not as dizzy as I was earlier. And you have totally reminded me that I should get some laundry done today. But I may put that off for tomorrow in hopes that I'm feeling better.

I'm thinking we may not be rolling as fast as we were yesterday. But I have been proven wrong far too often lately.

Men are so silly! They just don't understand.

yummy, chicken and dumplings. is it difficult to make?

Not at all. If its in the crock pot, its another load the pot and forget it dish. Chicken, some broth, seasonings, celery, and bisquick dumplings. And some cornstarch toward the end to make the soup part a little thicker. I like to serve it over mashed potatoes.

Sickness always seems to be that way at my work. Of course there's only 9 of us, so sickness easily passes through us. Usually when one is sick, two or three others are as well. Kinda sucks sometimes.

Well time to go get lunch and my doctors note for work (so I don't have to feel guilty for not being able to come in anymore!)

sounds good. I made beef stew in my crock pot last night. I always put bisquick dumplings on my stew. I love them. they are easy to make, just plop them on top and they swell into dumplings.

I will say, ever since I've been laid off, my kids haven't been sick, my DS behavior has improved, DD's grades are fantastic (principles honor roll). However, I can't seem to drop weight cause I'm constatly eating. I haven't gained anything, so luckily I've been burning what I have been eating. I also can't seem to break myself from my computer for more than 4 hours.:surfweb:

i am going to make your salsa chicken it sounds so good. The only one who will complain is my 13 year old daughter. But she complains about everything i make. I have given up trying to make her happy.

I LOVE my crock pot. I also love my kitchenaid standing blender. I think the only time I have used my hand blender is when I make mashed potatoes from sratch. I need to get to bed bath and beyond. They have a mixing attachment that has a rubber spatula scraper on one side. mixing and scraping at the same time, so cool.

My bro got us (me) a pressure cooker for christmas last year with a cook book. I'm a little hesitant to try it. I'm too scared that if I don't have the lid on right, I might cause some serious colateral damage.

I love my kitchenaid as well. The mixing scraping attachment sound scool. i'll have to check that out. I feel the same way about pressure cookers. my husband says his mom used one all the time growing up and everything was really good in it. But i've heard the horror stories about the explosions. I think they are made alot better now so it should be a non issue. but yeah, the thought is still there.

Yeah, my step mom used to use hers all the time. It cooks superfast and the food is always tender and good. The reciepes in my book are predominatley asian. A dinner that would take hours is done in 30 minutes. ugh, but noisey.

Sharing is caring!
You said landlord, are you in an apartment? is this "your" poo or are their other contributors?

Yes, we live in an apartment. It was not our poo, I am pretty sure it was someone elses. We ahve been having plumbing problems so we stopped using our toilet. So I am pretty sure I can safely say it was not ours.

:rotfl: Well in that case, let me share with you all the details of my sickness ...

On second hand, I think not.

I totally just put on Firefly after I caught up on Castle. AHH! I totally forgot Mark Sheppard was in a couple of episodes. Nobody does guest spots better than him.

I just don't want to move at all for the rest of the day. I'm going to try and edit photos but I don't know how long sitting up is gonna work for me.

all poo is gross, but something about knowing it's yours makes it a little better. When it's someone else's it sort of raises the "ick" factor. strange.
