Alright. I know I sound a bit ridiculous, but is your weather normal for this time of year? Believe me, if 85 degrees was normal for January here in SoCal, I would not rant so much. It is a bit weird trying to find my shorts, sunscreen and remove my down blankets in January when we just had tons of rain and freezing cold weather. It is just weird I tell ya.

Yes, this is fairly normal for us. We actually do not get near as cold as we used to. Back East has much, much worse winters then we ever do. Our winters are actually very mild. We may get 10 days with below zero weather all winter. The rest of the U.S. is sure changing though, there have been some very strange weather patterns the last few years.

Have any of you guys seen/heard of a PBS show called “Frontier House”? I watched it a long time ago, but I signed up for Netflix last night, and I am going to rent it again. It is a really really good series. It’s pretty much about taking 4 regular families and making them live like the pioneers did when they first settled in the west. They make them dress like they used to, use the same tools/ utensils that they used to use, and cook like the old days. They even make some of them build their own houses from scratch. It is a really fascinating TV show!

And good morning Chrissie! :)

This year has been beyond weird with the weather.

I watched part of it. IT was good. I love that sort of show. There was one on Planet Earth recently where they were in Alaska. It was interesting.

Morning is going okay. Got my yogurt parfait and stalker asked me to help put a trip together to DLR for him and his wife..

Yogurt parfait sounds good to me this morning.

Oh, I totally remember that show! :thumbsup2

We are spoiled here in Cali, yes indeedy ... I too whine when it's 50 degrees in the winter :)

I'm even worse. I like to complain about anything lower than 70 ... :rolleyes1

I saw your hair color it is so pretty! I dyed the bottom layer of my hair dark last night, I will have to take a pic and show you guys, I like it!

Thank you!! And you must share photos!!

Is it like that time they did something with a family in a Victorian house? I totally remember this show where this British family lived in an old Victorian house like they would have back during that era. I might have to check Frontier House out and poke around to find the one I am thinking of.

Just got back from breakfast. Yummy!! And so much better now that we split a meal so we can actually finish our plates.

AHA! I found the show I was thinking of. It was called "1900 House"!!

I remember that one too. I think that those shows are brilliant. You don't realize how much you appreciate something until you don't have access to it.

good morning everyone. first day of school semester for me:teacher:
good luck!

I'm setting up DD6's birthday party for next month, she wants a bowling party. It's nice because the alley takes care of everything pretty much. The entertainment (bowling) and lunch (pizza) with a decorated table and all the place settings. You just show up with your cake and goodie bags (they can put together goodie bags for a $fee but I think I can swing that :rotfl: ) Just waiting for the lady to call me back so we can get it confirmed. DD6 has requested an ice cream cake, I'm trying to figure out if I want to tackle the project on my own or just buy one? :confused3 I do have this awesome pan but I've never made an ice cream cake with it.

You can say that again Michele. Now I'm thinking we did see "Frontier House" but I just don't remember most of it. I was more interested in 1900 House because that was more my thing.

I used to love the kids bowling when I worked at the bowling alley. They enjoyed themselves and didn't get drunk while doing it.

I remember 1900 House because the wife was so whiny.

YEP! You guys got the right shows! I watched 1900 house and Regency House and Frontier House. Frontier House was my favorite by far...I also loved Regency House because I am completely in love with that period in time, but there was just something so interesting about taking regular people and making them see what settlers had to go through. The Clune family was so spoiled they had a hard time coping with things, they were sort of annoying to me lol but everyone else was so great to watch...

I am renting it and watching it again for sure. :) If you guys haven’t seen it, it is so worth a watch. :)

Sounds wonderful. I think I may be cooking this for dinner. I so get adding your own twist to recipes. I do it all the time.:thumbsup2

Cool, let me know how you liked it, and feel free to change it up even more.

I can't help But I can do teh happy dance with you.:dance3: That is great.

Yay, I am not dancing alone! I think I'm starting the jig now.

Sweet!! I use the tickers at **************. I used to stick to the name badge ones but they take up a lot of space and our signatures can on;y be so mny lines long so something would always get cut out for me so I just use the small countdown strip nowadays.

Thanks Jazz. I will work on it a bit later. I have lots to do and I can't just sit here all day on the computer like I have been all weekend.

That is awesome! :wizard: I hope to be there right around the same time, but in a kids suite at the HOJO :thumbsup2

Hope you can get your room. I'll send over some pixie dust your way. pixiedust:

I have! I may even done this myself. Does losing your hot water for 7 weeks with two teenage girls count? We had to schedule showers every Wednesday and Saturdays and I had to boil a pot of water to do the dishes. Last September to November we had a hot water leak in our cement slab. I felt like I was pioneering it. Never thought I would hear my 15 year old say, "When can I take a shower?" Ah good times.
