Yeah.. Native Australians.... Kinda sad story for most of them though :(

Do they live in the cities? Or do they live out in the wilderness? I have only seen how they are made out to be in movies. Which we all know is far from reality, usually. I picture them sort of being like the Alaska Natives we have here. Here they are pretty clannish and choose to stay in there Villages. But, the younger ones want to move into the cities.

Both really.

THere are alot who live in the bush in bush towns and there are allot who live in the cities in government housing :(

The problem is that the ones in the bush have huge alcohol problems and the younger ones (Kids and teens) have a petrol sniffing problem that the givernment have tried to stop or at least curb... its really scary.

In the cities they have drug problems which escalate to violence.
There is an area in Redfern (A suburb one away from Sydney) that is filled with Community housing and one street is called "The Block" and filled with Aboriginals. The police refuse to go in to that area as they are threatened with violence and each house is filled with like 20 people all drugged and alcohol addictioned up and ready to fight :(

Its very very sad to see all this happen.

Dont get me wrong there is a small percentage that are Aboriginal people who respect their culture and also respect westernisation and have jobs and such but most just take the government handouts and drink and drug on :( very horrible and very sad

That sounds very much like they are here. At least from what I've seen anyways. There is a whole town just north of where I am that is filled with houses that have boards on the windows from getting shot at, and things like that. It's not a very big town, but the one thing they have is a jail and a police station. They are very close to another town, where I lived very briefly, and they always came into that town and usually they were drunk or high or something. It's very sad. But like you said, there are some that live past that stereo type, and lead fairly successful lives.

Sadly enough, this sounds like the story of many of our Native's. Most have a huge alcohol problem, which is passed down through generations. It's a never ending circle. But, we have some making a good living who have chosen a better path.

Hi guys!!
