HULLO, HULLO! Greetings from the RPR Club Lounge!!

Well, Mike and I were off to a rough start yesterday... we park at work and then have a car service pick us up at work (covered, secure parking, you know), and....

Our driver was waiting for us at the wrong entrance at work, and that wound up costing us 20 minutes for something so dumb. We made it to the gate with 10 minutes to spare. Too close for my !

Then, here's my club room tip of the day: RPR has now moved club access to both the 7th floor (good) and the 6th floor (bad).

Keep in mind that if you request a nice view, and there are none left on the 7th floor, you will be stuck on the 6th floor. And I do mean stuck -- that means you carry one room key for your room/FOTL and ANOTHER for club access. And then the lounge isn't so convenient -- you have to go UP to grab waters for the park, etc. Bummer.

I d it! Fortunately for me, and every one else who stays club at RPR, Shannan is here to save the day. We were moved up to the 7th floor this morning. Bad view, but MUCH MORE convenient!!!

Then, we got icky, lukewarm nachos last night at Margaritaville. Had to send them back, and they came back lukewarm minus the sour cream and guacamole.

Little things, but today will be better.

Dueling Dragons will be open today and tomorrow, and today is WATER RIDE day.

woo hooo!!!!!

See ya later!

Glad to hear you were able to move to the 7th floor. I'll make sure I put in a request for the 7th floor. I don't mind what view I get, I'd rather have the convience.

Hope the rest of your trip is relaxing!!

P.S. How have the evening offering & desserts been???

Hi, hope your having a brilliant Holiday, we are hoping to go club level next August for the first time, this will be our 4th stay at the RPR but the first at club, there will be hubbie, myself and 2 daughters who will be 10 and 11.
If You have any spare time Photos of the offerings and club lounge would be brilliant :thumbsup2
Hubbie wants to know can you grab a couple of muffins to go!!!!
What times are the snacks etc.
Sorry it's just that we are so wanting to find out as much info before we book as obviously pennies play a big part .
Thanks and have loads of fun

Ah, taking a very rare moment of computer time during "Beer O'Clock!"

MF, no, your favorite hula dancer was not there at check-in, but we did have some complimentary papaya punch during the process. :) I have yet to meet the infamous Pia.

Breakfast is 7 - 10:30 and is all continental -- they have wonderful cinnamon buns with loads of extra icing, fruit, muffins, bread and bagels you can toast, pastries, etc. Sure, you can take extras to go. I always snag a cinnamon bun for hubby.

Evening offerings (5-7) always include chips & salsa, veggies and dips, and cheese and ers and a salad and hot offering. The first night, the salad was some kind of pasta salad with salmon and the hot offering was egg rolls. Tonight, we're enjoying a rice/shrimp salad and hot cheese tortellini w/ship.

I have pics of the club lounge already. I will post them when I get back, or do a search on my posts; I've posted them before and am sure you will find them.

Quite sorry to say that in all of our stays here at RPR Club, we have yet to make it to desserts. But, we have come here so often it seems that Shannan has welcomed us back with wonderful tuxedo'd strawberries and champagne which she sent to our room this evening. I really love the staff here!!

Off to Patty O's for some dueling pianos!

xox

Thanks so much for the heads up on the club changes! I will be sure and ask for 7th floor. What was that fax number again anybody? Anything else I should request? :hippie:

Thanks so much for the info, looking back I think I might have possibly seen your pics, I was just being greedy and seeing if you had any new ones :teeth: As if you haven't anything better to do on your Holiday eh !!!
We can not wait to return and August seems 07 seems so far away.
The girls are already talking about it and asking if they will be able to have chocolate milk and cookies again (the simple things that please eh?)
Hope your having a Blast

Thanks for the live updates. It feeds the rest of us stuck at home! Is the 6th floor only club, or still non club with a few getting club access? Sorry about the limp nachos. Hope the margaritas did not dissappoint!

I am getting more nervous now about club access. I really dont want to pay that much extra and be on another floor. I'm seriously considering switching to HRH. Are they doing this there also?

Have fun! Stay away from icky nachos. :lmao:

lindalinda, I wouldn't worry too much. Make your request for 7th floor only and check in early. The earlier you check in, the greater your chances (at least this is what the bell man told us). Also, be prepared to change rooms as we were if one on the 7th floor isn't available on your first night.

It seems the 6th floor is just "club overflow." Meaning, I don't think the entire floor is club. We didn't get our turn-down or trinket like we usually do on the 7th floor. Speaking of which, I got my favorite trinket last night at turn down: the popouri shell (how do you spell that?). My drawers at home are full of them! Love those things. :)

I have put DH in charge of taking pictures of food, but I have to say we have just been awful about taking pics on this trip. Don't think we've taken one yet! DH managed to score a free shot of tequila last night at Pat's. Pat's was really hopping last night, and we had LOTS of fun! Don is one of the best players there -- ask if he's playing before you pay for admission!

It was very crowded all around CW. Don't forget that although you get priority seating with your hotel key, that doesn't always mean much. Try to avoid eating when the parks get out. We ate at HRC 14 minutes before the kitchen closed last night -- whatever time that was! Fortunately, I had pigged out during beer o'clock in the club lounge and wasn't hungry till late.

Oh, and here is our new favorite hang-out: happy hour at Finnegan's Pub. Two pints of Miller Lite: $4.75 total. Awesome! That's between 4-6 usually. They also have a guy who plays guitar and it's just fun.

We are off to the parks now. Got to ride DD yesterday -- they are painting it. Should look at bright and perky for anyone going after it's all finished.

Smell ya later!

Thanks so much for the live report. I'm glad to hear that you are having so much fun. Yesterday I booked RPH Club for the first time and I can't wait till July.

I just finished switching our RPH standard view to
Club Level  :woohoo: :cool1:

I took your advice and the only request I made was for the 7th floor. Easy access to the lounge is more important than the view for us. After reading all your glowing reports from your past Club Level trips, we can't wait to experience it for ourselves :thumbsup2

Ahhh, I should stop posting such glowing reports.... they'll make the 5th floor "club" level too, and then where would we be? ;)

Well, today was just an OK day. Mike and I are dragging a bit, due to our late night stomp yesterday. We're about to take a quick nap, because, you know, we never miss Beer O'Clock in the club lounge.

The bad today: DD was closed today so we didn't get to ride. It was open yesterday, so we're glad we got to ride Fire. Wanted to ride Ice, but a very rowdy group behind us was going for Ice, so we quickly changed our minds and switched to Fire to avoid them.

Then we went to ride Hulk, and that was having technical difficulties and we decided not to wait it out, but we should have. It was just a short time that it was down.

Express lines were very long today for some reason. We waited for a lot of rides for about 20 minutes, which of course is nothing compared to the 75-80 posted waits in the regular lines.

Then, I think Mike and I are going to have to sit Shiva since our favorite counter service restaurant is no more. How bummed were we to find that Capt. Quint's had been made into a Boardwalk Treats and Slurpees? We were so disappointed to see that.

The good: I made people clap at the end of Jimmy Neutron. Always a good thing!

Also, I have the coolest pair of sneakers EVER (OK, so I am the only one who thinks so), and every time I wear them, I look for people who are wearing sneakers that could possibly be cooler than mine. I have yet to find anyone with cooler sneakers, and I so I remain the Cool Sneaker Champion. Bonus.

The ugly: my MIB score today. Abyssmal and embarrassing.

Off for a quick nap. check back in with y'all later!

:)

Hi All,

We just got home from a split stay at BWI and RPR CL at both! We had a wonderful visit, but overall we were very surprised at the crowd levels at both Disney & USO. AlexandNessa, my wife spotted you today (Sat) posting and thought it must be you. She was of course right! We had a great time as usual at the RPR Club and agree that it is not such a good thing that the 6th floor has access as well, since it now seems extra crowded. We enjoyed 2 dinners at Tchoup Chop and had a very fun time in the parks. We even ran into our favorite tour guide , Mark at US yesterday. We have done HHN VIP tours 3 times with Mark and were happy to see him in the "off-season."

I'm especially enjoying the restaurant reviews. With a 4-legged baby girl, we can't stay club level, but I love reading the rest of your reports. So far, they've been as expected. We love the Margaritaville in Key West & Jamaica, but don't care for the one in Orlando. We also agree on Pat O'Briens. The patio is great, as well as the food. We haven't tried the piano bar, but we have a 14 yr. old. I can't wait the read the rest. Oh yeah, things are a bit different when you have a hangover, aren't they? ;)

rxlowry,
I'm looking forward to your reviews of Tchoup Chop. We like Emeril's better, but are considering giving TC another try.

I can vouch for the evening offerings. They were excellent, and far superior to those offered at the Boardwalk Innkeeper's Club. Each night they put out 5-6 different types of cookies and 3 different pies or cakes. I can remember coconut custard, a chocolate cake with a fruit cheesecake layer, a heath bar cheesecake and tiramisu. They were all quite delicious!

rxlowry, you should have said hello! We are staying BWI concierge in December, and are anxious to compare.

Last night, we ust went to NASCAR for a beer or two before the Laker game at NBA City. Mike is in mourning now that his Lakers are out of the play-offs, but I was rooting for the Suns anyway -- I have a not-so-secret crush on Steve Nash, which Mike finds abhorrent!

Today, we are off to the parks again (having a hard time talking Mike into a pool day this trip), and then we are meeting our friends at Margaritaville.

See you later!

We were getting ready to leave for the airport when we saw you. But anyway..we were by the TV behind the computer with our talkative 3 year old!
We (dh, my Mom, dd and myself) all preferred RPR to BWI. The lounge is very small, the offerings not as good and the service not as friendly. (with the exception of one guy at night who entertained our 3 year old and that we watched American Idol with)
The staff at RPR Club is great....BWI had a "fakeness" to them.
