I thought that I had beaten my addiction with my last trip in Feb/March 2009. It was my first ho-hum trip. At 57 years old I thought I was free...free to do other things besides WDW. Then the military salute reared its ugly head.

I resisted, really I did, but my best friends and their two adorable daughters (8 and 9) had never been to WDW. I thought to myself, on my last trip I did not have any newbies to help, no children to be awestruck. Also on my last trip my husband and I were not in WDW shape. We were jaded. This could be a new begining.

Then besides the cheap tickets, the Southwest flights were only $49 one way!!!!:cool1: AND I could get rooms at SoG....
What was I to do?

THEN, I thought about my soon to be 3 year old grandson. I had never taken him to Disney! UNFAIR!!!! Also we had never been to WDW during the Food and Festival time.... Also my 7 year old grandson is best friends with the girls. We have to take him as well. After all, Malinda(age 8) is his fiance.

They have an understanding. When they were four they planned their wedding and family while in their carseats. When school started I thought the engagement was broken as Malinda is a flirt and an older women (by six months). She kept Will in the dark until he started school a year later, then he discovered the cruel truth. However, it turns out my boy is also very popular with the little girls; but he was true to Malinda until he found out about her wandering eye courtesy of her older sister. So this year when he entered first grade and Malinda was going into second they had a "serious" talk. Being realistic young people, they decided it was okay to have boyfriends and girlfriends as long as they both understood that they would be getting married after college. (Personally, I was very relieved about the after college bit.) This is also a good incentive for Will to do well in school. Afterall Malinda's father will not allow her to marry anyone who does go to college!!!

So, taking these two to WDW would be a hoot!!! Not to mention the older sister, C. A., who is a scientist and plans a career in the dental field, is very observant, lively and has never found a bug she didn't love. She wanted a set of teeth for Christmas, not fake ones, real ones to practice on.

So I thought I was set. Newbies, grandchildren, cheap tickets, cheap flight, cheap rooms, WE HAD TO GO BACK AND WIPE THAT HO-HUM TRIP OUT OF OUR MEMORY!!! I started walking two miles 5 times a week to prepare......

sorry double post

I guess this is why I have never finished a report.....I am a thread killer extrodinaire!!!!:guilty:

We had originally planned this October trip because the military salute allowed us to take some very good friends and their adorable daughters. Then my two grandsons (3 and 7) hopped on. I even got my Dad (retired military) to buy my ticket so my husband could buy our friends tickets.....But now they aren't going.......So do we just go with our grandsons? We have three military salute tickets we aren't going to use. Luckily we haven't purchased them yet, but I still feel they are wasted.....If we don't go I will be out $150 for my ticket and $440 for the airplane tickets. If we go we could spend another $3000 on room, 2 tickets, and spending......I am not sure if I am not only a thread killer but also a trip killer....... I feel I am here all alone :sad1:......

Any pixie dust out there??? I am still undecided if we will be going now....Now it looks like my youngest grandson won't be going with us. It would just be DH, DGS (7), and myself.....I will still plan our ADRs just in case. I can do that on July 16..Then we will see....:confused3
