HELLO ? MICKEY? ARE YOU THERE?It's me again, and again, and again.....TR STARTED 6/3

Well, let's see...while I think the CR would be awesome (I've always wanted to stay there!) if I had to choose between the two I would pick...

BEACH CLUB!!! :cool1::yay::cool1:

BC is just such a beautiful resort :cloud9: and the proximity to Epcot (with your own private entrance) can't be beat, in my opinion. So, while I don't think you could go wrong with either resort, I would say BC hands down! :goodvibes

Michelle-VB question...do you have either size of the backpack? I have my eye on it and want to take advantage of the free shipping but wasn't sure about real life sizing. Seems like the big one is really big...would the smaller one be good for a park bag with just usual park stuff and a drink?
Thanks for your's (and anyone else who might have one) opinion!:goodvibes

Stacy---My daughter has the smaller backpack. I've carried it a few times in the park, and to be honest, it gets tight sometimes with all I try to cram in it. I usually carry a small wallet, a small cosmetic bag(the VB small one), my cell phone, sunglasses, (sometimes Kevin's sunglasses too) , and a couple of small fold-up-disposable ponchos. Lots of times I carry Reid's DS and a few games.

The frill VB backpack that I ordered and carried during my Gatlinburg trip is more along the size of regular "school" backpack. I have seen some girls here at school carrying the large backpack and it is also more the size of a "school" backpack.

I don't know if this is any help.

Plus, I think it would be cool to be so close to MK!

It would be nice to stroll over to MK!

I'm not a streamline/contemporary kind of gal

Stormalong Bay is a BIG plus.

Surely, you aren't going to throw the Polynesian into the mix too?

Lisa, Nothing about be screams contemporary. :lmao:

SAB does look awesome, and it might even be warm enough for this Southern-born girl to get in a pool!

I don't think I'm going to add the Poly into the equation....It's complicated enough!

We are not pool people so that was not part of the equation.

We are breakfast people so no counter top for a quick breakfast was a big disadvantage when we stay at BC, but I did like being close to EPCOT at night.

We like the pool and we like our breakfast. I will be taking our three kids with us and they like to swim and play in the pool, so that has to be part of my thinking in this decision.

We usually carry breakfast stuff with us, because DH and I are really cereal people---eat my raisen bran every morning. Reid usually just eats poptarts, and my two teenaged daughters skip breakfast. (BAD, I know)

Ahh that is a tough decision!

Tell me about it!

SAB?? That speaks all for itself!:thumbsup2

. I just don't have a strong feeling about Contemporary...

I don't have a strong feeling about the CR either.......but SAB???? Now, that's another thing! :thumbsup2

I personally don't find the Contemporary appealling with the exception of location.

That and the size of the rooms is about the best thing I can think of about it.

Ya'll are drivin' me to drinken' more Diet Coke....:lmao:.

:rotfl2:Sorry, Dana!

I have to say that the lure of staying on the monorail is a huge draw. Have you ever stayed at the Contemporary before?
We've not stayed at CR before, but we have stayed at the Poly a couple of times, and the monorail is super-nice!

Can't wait to hear what you decide!
Maybe a decision will come soon........

But, on the other hand - the location of the Contemporary just can't be beat.......

The location is great; but we found the Yacht Club/Beach Club area to be just as great.

Although, I really dislike the bus situation there for MK and AK.

Have you had problems? We stayed at YC during New Year's Eve, and didn't have any problems with the buses to MK (didn't make it to AK that week)

There are advantages to both but you have mentioned on numerous reports how much you enjoyed the YC. We will be behind ya whatever you choose.

You're right, Mary, we really did enjoy YC, so I think that's the draw of being back in that area again.

If I were to pick though, I'd pick the Contemporary because of the walk to MK AND the Monorail! :)

Walking to MK would be nice.......

BC is just such a beautiful resort :cloud9:

I think that entire area is really pretty. :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, you're down to only ONE WEEK!! :woohoo:

The resort debate is a tough one...

I love the thought of the CR because of it's location and position on the monorail.

I love the thought of the BC because of it's theming and pool.

Of course, if you want to talk location... BC is a short walk to the World Showcase, so it has a good location advantage as well.

I think I would go with Beach Club! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Sounds to me like someone is leaning towards making a switch to BC............
Uhhhmmmm......You never know........

Kathy

They both have their advantages when it comes to location.

Honestly, I made that statement based on Randy & Alisa's stay there last summer. There was one day where their return to the hotel from AK was over an hour from the moment they got on the bus to the moment the got off the bus. They had problems like that the whole week when they would go to MK or AK. Five resorts on one bus is a lot.

Either would be good to me--I am no help! :rotfl2:

That's ok..:) ..I think I may have reached a decision!

Wow, that would not set well with me---I can be fairly impatient at times---a bad trait of mine.

I know from staying at different places that some resorts share a bus in less crowded times, and then not share if it's really crowded. Of course when we were there at NYE, it was the most crowded of any time of the year. The only place YC shared a bus with was next door--Beach Club. We only used the bus to get to MK, but we had good luck with it that day.

Well, a resort decision has been made...................

Walt Disney Travel Company was called today.....................................

I changed resorts!!!! We'll be at Beach Club for our May trip! :jumping1::rainbow::jumping1::rainbow::jumping1:

A lot of people had something to say about the location of both resorts and I agree, that the location is great for both resorts--- The Cont. is on the monorail, convenient to MK and EP. But Beach Club is super convenient to EP, and it's easy to get to DHS as well. Because of our kids' ages, we tend to spend most of our time at either DHS or MK, pretty evenly.

You know, I just was not feeling the Contemporary, try as I might. :sad2: The main draw of it for me was the size of the rooms. But then I thought about the fact that we really don't sit around in the room very much. My kids are older, we aren't back taking naps in the afternoon, and they sure don't go to be at 8 p.m. during vacation. So, really I couldn't let the room size affect my decision. SAB is one of the biggest perks for Beach Club, and as Rachel reminded me, we would spend more time in a pool, than we would just sitting in a room. :thumbsup2

So, I am pretty excited now----Any suggestions on a room location at BC? We booked standard view, to keep the price close to what I had at Cont. I also made a dinner reservation at Yachtsman Steakhouse just for Kevin and me for our anniversary. :lovestruc We're going to try to get over there without any kids!

Yay!! Beach Club is sweet!:goodvibes

As for room recommendations, I would be sure to ask for a balcony if you want it-we just had one of those "walk-outs" I think they call them. We were on the 4th floor, facing the front. Very noisy when buses and delivery trucks pulled up. My friend was across the hall facing the back and it was quiet for them, full balcony, and a much better view!

Thanks for the information on the VB backpacks-it does help!! Still can't make up my mind though!

Woo hoo, glad you made a decision! Yay for the Beach Club!

I'm glad you made a decision. I understand not wanting to stay at a resort because you just don't vibe well with the theme. I hope yall are able to get away for a dinner alone.

Beach Club is a great choice! The kids will love hanging out at the pool, and there are always ice cream treats waiting right there at Beaches and Cream! :cool1:

I hope you have a fabulous steak dinner/night out, too. :)

Yay for Beach Club! It looks so pretty and SAB looks like so much fun. You will have a great time. CR always seem a little sterile to me and couldn't really get excited about it when I booked it.
You will have a great trip!
