HELLO ? MICKEY? ARE YOU THERE?It's me again, and again, and again.....TR STARTED 6/3

Trip #2---Family Vacation

Since I’ve kind-of got a handle on the March plans, I thought I’d share the ADRs I’ve made for my family’s May trip to Disney.

Saturday, May 22---This one is a surprise for my family.....so, sorry, but I won’t take the chance. :sad2: Last time I posted a surprise on this board ---my DD’s 16th birthday trip---her friend saw it and told her. So, I won’t provide that opportunity this time. I'll pm you if you just can't stand not knowing!

Let’s just say that it takes 2 TS credits and we’ve never done it in our eight trips! :yay:

Can't wait to hear what this is!:goodvibes

Sunday, May 23---Crystal Palace @ 6:20 p.m. - We’ve eaten breakfast here several times, but never dinner. pooh:

We're the opposite-eaten dinner but not breakfast. Dinner was good, but I found it limiting as I am a picky eater. I ended up eating mostly off the kids section. The desserts however were wonderful!!!

Monday, May 24---Mama Melroses @ 5:35 p.m. - 1st time to eat here!

We've eaten here. The food was good but the kid's meals were small-at least for my DS. I had to give him half of my food. DH had salmon and didn't like it but the rest of us liked our food (what I got to eat of it:rolleyes:)

Tuesday, May 25---Chef Mickeys @ 10:05 a.m. - We ate dinner here several years ago, and weren’t too impressed with the food. However, Reid has never eaten here, so we thought we’d give the breakfast a try on this visit.

This is us too!! I hear that the breakfast is better so I am hoping for both of us that it true! Can't beat the atmosphere and characters though!

Wednesday, May 26---Akershus @ 8:05 a.m. - We’ve never eaten any meal in the Norway pavilion. We did eat in Cinderella’s castle a couple of years ago. I decided I had to eat here when I saw Courtney’s (SOUTHERNtinkerBELLE) post after she and her DFi ate here . (That shout-out was just for you Courtney!! :thumbsup2 )

We love this place! Both our meals have been dinner but the food is great so I am sure that breakfast will be a winner!

Thursday, May 27---Sci-Fi @ 12:55 p.m. - This will be a new one for our family. I think the atmosphere looks like fun, but I’ve just never heard a lot of positives about the food. My sister and I will be checking it out during our March trip. If we hate it, I’ll cancel and do something else.

As others have said-stick to the burgers and it will be fine. I think my DD had a hot dog...can't mess that up usually either! It is a really fun place!!

Friday, May 28---‘Ohana @ 5:15 p.m. - We’ve eaten dinner here before, as well as breakfast several times. I LOVE that bread pudding !

Great choice!! Definitely going back here on an upcoming trip!!

So….what do you think?

You've got fantastic choices!!

If you stick to the burgers and shakes, you'll be fine! (Although I liked the Reuben sandwich I had last time.) Perhaps it just depends on who's cooking that day.

Kathy

I totally gave my gang those exact instructions- stick with the burgers....but noooooooooo they had to go and be all contrary and oppositional!

I too have heard that the burgers are good here- and although my lightweight DS did not care for the atmosphere, an older crowd would probably enjoy it better. I do think that if you can try each place at least once, go for it! Everyone has different taste.

Thanks, Carissa---I'll have to link over and read these reviews. :thumbsup2
Chuck had the reuben too and thought it was very good. :thumbsup2

Not a fan of a reuben too much....will probably stick to burgers!

ADRs look great :thumbsup2. I can't wait to try 'Ohana for dinner. We had a less than magical experience at the breakfast in September. We don't have any of the same ADRs :sad2:. I still have one left to make and I am leaving it open for suggestions. I have thought about doing something that takes 2 credits, but I don't know that there is anything Dale and Dallas would eat at any of the 2 credit restaurants.

I hate that you had a less than magical exerience at the 'Ohana breakfast last year. We've eaten there several times, and always had a good time!

Oh---No ADRs at the same place/time? I need to go back and look at your ADRs you have for your May trip. I think that Dale and Dallas are like my bunch. They aren't real "experimental" with new food. I'll get back with you on any ideas I may get. :)

I liked this princess breakfast just as much as Cindy's Table at the Castle!

Well, I have to be honest, and say that I didn't really care for the breakfast at the castle---The setting was the best part. :thumbsup2

If you stick to the burgers and shakes, you'll be fine! (Although I liked the Reuben sandwich I had last time.) Perhaps it just depends on who's cooking that day.

That's our plan!

Great mix of ADRs... congratulations!!

Thanks, Kathy! :)

You've got fantastic choices!!

Thanks, Stacy! :) We've got a mix of a few old favorites, with some new choices!

I think we will definitely stick with burgers.....and maybe a chocolate shake or two! ;)

Great ADR choices! We are going to be trying Mama Melroses this next trip too--we want seats at Fantasmic so we are thinking the dinner package as well. Akershus is on our list as well.

Sci Fi, for me was just ok--nothing to rave about. I to chili and onion rings according to my trip notes. DH got a burger. Other than there, it is the only place on your list that we have eaten at!! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them. :goodvibes

I certainly don't blame you one bit for not posting your surprise ADR. Don't want to let the cat out of the bag!

I like your ADRs. We've eaten at a few of those places...Chef Mickey's (disgusting dinner), Sci-Fi (going back this May) and Crystal Palace. It's our tradition to eat our last dinner at the Crystal Palace.

Sunday, May 23---Crystal Palace @ 6:20 p.m. - We’ve eaten breakfast here several times, but never dinner. pooh:

We've had dinner, but not breakfast. :upsidedow

Monday, May 24---Mama Melroses @ 5:35 p.m. - 1st time to eat here!

Had an ADR on the Christmas trip, but cancelled, so haven't tried this one yet.

Tuesday, May 25---Chef Mickeys @ 10:05 a.m. - We ate dinner here several years ago, and weren’t too impressed with the food. However, Reid has never eaten here, so we thought we’d give the breakfast a try on this visit.

We've had both meals. The fruit at breakfast was so good! We have another breakfast ADR for this summer's trip.

Jill's family did this on the trip they took by themselves two Octobers ago. I think she said it was good, and some people say they like it better than CRT. I have done neither Akershus nor Cinderella's Royal Table.

We've done lunch here twice. It was fine. We're not hard to please when it comes to food. The atmosphere is different, so it's an 'experience' meal. I think people should be allowed to experience every meal/restaurant for themselves and make their own calls. :) We will do Sci-Fi again.

Friday, May 28---‘Ohana @ 5:15 p.m. - We’ve eaten dinner here before, as well as breakfast several times. I LOVE that bread pudding !

Have only done 'Ohana breakfast, but look forward to doing dinner sometime. Our guys will love the meat choices. Just being at the Polynesian is fun in itself.

So….what do you think?

Those are my thoughts, for what little they are worth. I think it's just awesome that you are in the process of planning meals for two incredible Disney trips, so I am happy with all of it! :cool1:

Well, I am having a SURPRISE SNOW DAY today! :jumping1::jumping1:

No one was expecting this. I woke up this morning, got ready for school, and about 6:45 a.m., it began sleeting. By 7 a.m., there was snow falling FAST with the sleet. Fifteen minutes later, the phone call came saying that school start would be delayed until 9:30. It kept snowing, hard and fast, and right before Kevin left for work at 8, I told him, I'd be surprised if we even went in today. Sure enough, five minutes later, a phone call that said "No school today!" It continued to snow hard until about 10 a.m., and we have about 3 1/2 inches of snow.

Here is a picture of the street in front of my house:

The kids playing in the snow:

What do teenage girls do in the snow? Well, when they finally get out of the bed, they come out and ......TEXT! :rotfl:

IMGP1998.jpg

When Elizabeth managed to put her phone away, we decided to make a snowman.

IMGP1996.jpg

Rachel decided to build another "techno-robot" snowman. I'm not really sure how the lei from the Poly fits into that design! :confused3

IMGP2001.jpg

Millie did not care for the snow at all......Her legs were completely covered!

FUN DAY!!! :)

Yay for a snow day!! We don't get those around here :) And if we did...I only live 1/2 mile from work so I'd have to come in anyway!! Have fun!!

Thanks! :)

I'm beginning to think that Sci-Fi may or may not happen. I think we may pay OOP for it, and use our dining TS credit elsewhere.

Thanks, Lisa! :) I am hoping we enjoy the breakfast at CM better than we did the dinner. I know we'll enjoy the characters.

Do you like the dinner at CP? I guess you do, since you have a tradition of eating dinner there each visit.

It is pretty awesome! :thumbsup2 I'm pretty excited with all it!

I knew my northern DISers would be laughing that we have a snow day for 3 inches of snow, but my southern DISers completely understand!! ;)

This is actually a LOT of snow for our area. We haven't had this much snow in several years!

The snow pictures are beautiful. They said we might have a little sleet tomorrow morning. I highly doubt it though. We haven't had a really good snow in several years.

We really do like dinner at the Crystal Palace. Never had a bad meal there yet.

Look at all that snow!! How fun. Poor doggie!! I will throw out another thumbs down for Sci-Fi.

Thats alot of snow in just a few hours! Your poor pup looked miserable - she's burried! I love Rachel's boots, very cute :thumbsup2

Have fun on your snow day! It's snowing here too - AGAIN! This has been the oddest winter.

Thanks, Lisa! :)

Good to know about the CP dinner. We have always enjoyed breakfast there, so it'll be fun to try out a different meal, same beautiful setting. I saw on MeMom/BrooklynnsMommy/ TR where they ate dinner there, and it sounded pretty good, so I decided to go for it! :thumbsup2

It has been fun, Mary! I know....poor little Millie did not care for all that snow. Rachel carried her out there and then just set her down right in the middle of it. I think it offended her doggie dignity! :lmao:

Yes...Millie does not like to get wet...She's quite the dog diva. ;)

It has been a super weird winter. Just yesterday at church, I was saying how I was sick of cold weather, ready for some sunshine and warmer temps, and then look what happens this morning.. :rolleyes1.....SNOW!!

Aren't you going there for lunch in March too, or am I getting trips confused? I say just hang on to it until you try it out in March and if you like it, keep the ADR, if you don't, drop it :thumbsup2 It's a good one to pay OOP for as well, the burgers are plenty big enough to split.

Your plans look great! I like that you have a 'sleep in' day thrown in there.

YAY for a snow day!! You guys really got a lot! Glad you guys had such a fun snow day!

We really did get a lot of snow for our area. We had a fun day...cold, but fun! :goodvibes Thanks, Julia!

You remembered correctly, Michelle. :thumbsup2 My sister and I are trying it out in March. If we don't like it, I will cancel the May ressie , but if we do like it, I'll still have the ressie to take the family in May.

Believe me, I don't like planning a "sleep in " day...but I've learned with two teenagers, I can't keep dragging them up early everyday. So, a sleep-in day for the girls. :) I'm sure Reid and I will be up by 7:30 or 8.

We had a surprise snow day as well!! Brent woke me up around 5 am to tell me that it had snowed and that schools were closed! I couldn't believe it!! :goodvibes I'm about to put some pics on my PTR!! LOVE your snow pics!! The kids are too cute!! My girls tried to build a snowman but didn't have the patience--it ended up being a snow volcano as Ally called it!! :lmao:
