"Hello? I'm in the Carousel of Progress.."*UD1/13pg74"All Good Things...*

all caught up.

great update and pics.

shhh I have all 3 HSM's on my ipod too. :rolleyes1

What is HSM? My son would like to find a few disney songs for his ipod but said that he would have to purchase the whole album?

HSM is High School Musical...has your son seen the movies? My 14 year old likes them...but I'm sure he wouldn't admit that out loud!

You can find some Disney music on iTunes and can purchase songs individually. You may have to look up individual song titles because sometimes they are under the artist who sang them and won't come up if you just search for Disney music.

I licked the cheesecake bowl clean (YUM!) as we headed out of Backlot Express and began our walk to the Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show. Now remember, I have 3 boys and a wonderful husband so this show is NOT optional...it is a MUST SEE! ::yes:: Revving engines, the smell of burning rubber, shootouts, motorcycle chases and big explosions mean happy boys! We came in on the late-ish end of things so we ended up being seated in the far left of the stadium, but only about halfway up. Not too bad. The bleacher seating is not the most comfortable, but it works. This is just a really fun show, and even I, the lone female in a testosterone filled house, enjoy it! :thumbsup2 I didn’t take as many pictures as last trip, but spent more time just watching the show. I did take a few so here they are...I DID manage to get the money shot this year. In 2007 I could tell by the set-up that the car would be coming out of the window, but missed the cool explosion at the end...not this time! ENJOY!

Ok..this one I did miss...the car had just jumped from truck to truck.

The Money Shot! Ok..so I kinda missed the car..you can’t have everything!

As we followed the masses out of the stadium and back onto the Streets of America, it was time to scout out a spot for the parade. I knew we should be somewhere between the Indiana Jones Stunt Show area and the American Idol Experience theater, but this was a new parade for us so we weren’t certain where the best viewing spot would be. We asked a CM on the street and he told us approximately where the parade would stop...it’s a Block Party so it doesn’t move the whole time, but stops for “performances” along the parade route. We chose a spot just between the Sounds Dangerous theater and the American Idol Experience. There is a little wall and an area called “the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame” with busts of TV and movie personalities. Jonah wanted his picture taken with this guy!

I, however, posed for this winner of a picture! I’ve had a crush on him since he was Little Joe!

It was getting pretty hot and we were waiting right in the hot sun on the hot pavement, so I headed to Min and Bill’s Dockside for some delicious frozen lemonade for everyone. So good on a hot day! My two boys were way too cool to hang out with the rest of the family. :cool2: Here they are chillin’ with their lemonades, trying to act like they didn’t know us!

We waited for what seemed like a long time, but since the parade stopped along the way, it took some time to get to us. We finally heard it coming! Block Party Bash was new for us...the last time we had seen a DHS parade it was Stars and Motorcars. We were excited for this one! Here it comes!!

At one point, the parade stopped and there were CM’s dancing and interacting with the kids. They stopped for a good long time and did lots of cool stuff with beach balls, pogo sticks, etc. The performers were VERY high energy!

ThursdayDHS--Disney200938.jpg

They invited all the kids to come out onto the street and dance with them. This is the one and only dance move Jonah knows! LOL!! Oh...and notice he STILL has the sword!
ThursdayDHS--Disney200939.jpg

After about 7-10 minutes, the parade began moving again. Here are some more pictures as it went by.

The Block Party faded into the distance and we gathered our belongings and set off for our next adventure. We really enjoyed this parade...it was fun and interactive and colorful. I give those CM’s credit for dancing and hopping around in that heat! Whew! Well done!

Our next stop was to head in the direction of Rock n Roller Coaster. Our FP’s were good beginning at 4:00 and it was just after 3:30. We also hoped to maybe catch the Beauty and the Beast show on our way. We stopped to take this picture of the Snow White topiary....my fave!

ThursdayDHS--Disney200947.jpg

Next up...Do we get to see Belle fall in love with the Beast? How does Jonah like his first ride on the RnRC?? What do you mean where’s your cell phone??

Thanks for reading!

Yes, I'd say you got the money shot! We snuck out a few minutes early so we missed that! Wow! I'm glad the kids didn't know what they were missing. :rolleyes1

Cute shot with Michael Landon! You look giddy! :goodvibes

The parade looks like it was fun - we've never seen a DHS parade (or an MGM parade for that matter...) Zach probably would have enjoyed it.

"Where's your cell phone?" :scared1:

I have never stayed and watched a DHS parade, but after seeing your pictures we're going to have to see it. My son will love it. All his favorites are in it.

We loved the parade, too!! Sooo much fun!! I hope you did get to see Beauty and the Beast--that was one of our favorite shows!!!

Great update and pics! I love the picture of the 2 older boys drinking their frozen lemonades and trying to act like they don't know you! And the one of Jonah dancing? Too cute. My 8 year old son does that move all the time (Zach and Cody do it)!

We loved that parade when we saw it back in October. I kind of still miss the old cars though....both are nice.

Cell phone missing....OH NO!!!

Your DHS day sounds amazing so far! Whew, I'm glad your boys liked ToT. Only 2 out of our 5 were tall or brave enough to board that elevator.

I  Michael Landon also!

It was a cool parade because it was different. I liked all the interaction and the props the CMs used. Very energetic and upbeat! So fun! :yay:

Oh man..stay tuned for that one!

I have never stayed and watched a DHS parade, but after seeing your pictures we're going to have to see it. My son will love it. All his favorites are in it.

It's cool with all the Pixar characters in it. I think depending on where you are when it stops you get to see different stuff too. It's definitely worth watching!

Oh NO NOT THE CELL PHONE!

Love the picture of you and Mikey Baby! Thats a keeper!

LOL! Jeff told me to stand there so he could take my picture and, at first, I told him no. I thought it was silly! But then, I figured I'd ham it up! Why not? I DO love Michael Landon...have since I was a little girl!

We loved the parade, too!! Sooo much fun!! I hope you did get to see Beauty and the Beast--that was one of our favorite shows!!!

It's one of Jeff's favorites as well. In fact, I had it on the "maybe" list for this trip, but he really wanted to see it again!

Yay!! For the money shot.:yay: I tried to get the shot but missed it!!!

If you're not quick you miss stuff at that show! You have to kind of be anticipating what's going to happen. It helped that I knew it was coming!

It was our favorite parade of the week!

Aren't those boys crazy? They are growing up too fast!

Oh right...we are big Zack and Cody fans. That's where he learned it!! LOL! It's big with the 8-10 year old set apparently because I saw a lot of little kids doing it. TOO FUNNY! :rotfl:

Welcome almost home Christine! I used to swoon over Little Joe when I was little..then I loved him as Pa Ingalls. :lovestruc I'm so glad Jeff made me get that picture...it's a good memory!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip when you finally make it home! :rolleyes1

Great update as always.

I have two boys in my group and the stunt show is a not to be missed on our park touring list too. I have to say that I really enjoy the show too even though I'm just a girl.;)

I give Michael Landon a thumbs up too! He was such a cutie in his day.:cloud9:

Love the picture of your two older boys standing off to the side just chillin'. Can't be seen with your parents too much or your reputation as a dude would be ruined!

I can't wait to see the new Block Party parade. It looks like it's so much fun and the Bug's Life characters are my favorite. I see that Mr. Jonah can bust a move with the rest of 'em. Way to go boy!

If you pick the wrong spot for that "parade" it really is no fun! I hope you got a good one!

I love the picture of you and Micaheal Landon!!

MMMM frozen lemonade! good idea!

Yeah! It looks like you got a really good spot! The first time we saw the parade, we were at the end of where they stop and we couldn't see anything, it was awful! This year we picked a better spot! :thumbsup2

Arminda does that move that Jonah is doing!!! It cracks me up every time!

Uh oh, WHERE is your cell phone??? and I hope you watched Beauty and the Beast!!! I love that show!

I could tell from the map that there were better places than others to sit. That's why we asked...he directed us to a great spot!

His dance move cracks me up too! :rotfl: What IS that exactly??

LMA is not my favorite but you did get a great shot. We had a bad view of the parade last time, so I hope to see it again in a better spot next time. Your pictures of the parade were really good. I love BTB, hope you get to see it.

Great update Missy....

We have yet to see LMA...it has just never worked out for us. I read in the UG 09 book that rumor has it in a few yrs they may change it to a more Cars fun version for more appeal...:confused3

It's hard to catch w/ only 2 showings practically a day...but glad to see your great pic's and others' on their TR's.

We saw the BPB in 08 and sweated thru it, maybe seeing in cooler Nov. weather we'll have a different feeling...but we got frozen lemonades too from Doc Min's while we waited.

Great dancin' :dance3: Jonah!

Oh BTW...the last parade that DH, my DMom and I saw before seeing BPB at DHS/MGM was the Aladdin parade in '94....

now I'm dating myself...

2 guesses on who lost their cell phone.....:scared:

Great pics!

Love LMA! My 11 yr old is a total car fanatic so I took his pic watching LMA in addition to pics of the show!

Love Jonah's dance move ~ my 7 year old does it too!

ROFL @ your older two chillin' (and probably checking out the girls!)
