Hello from OK!

I always rent a locker and put my crocs in there along with any extra crap we will need for the day but don't want to carry around in the backpack. Before we go on any ride that will get us wet we go get the crocs and make sure we have ponchos. When its done we change back to tennis shoes. Also I put on my crocs when we sit and wait for the evening fireworks. My toes have got to have some air after walking all day.
Sams in Norman had some really nice Speedo flip flops. I have gotten pairs from there every year. Once you get them "wore in" they are super comfy.

So, how did everyone do with this last rain storms we got? I hope no one got flooded out....we had so much rain it was hard to get home with lots of the roads closer due to flooding.

Our roads always flood in Tuttle but it does drain off after the rains stop. We still have some puddles but driving is fine. The wind yesterday was awful!

I couldn't figure out how people in Deer Creek went anywhere yesterday. It seemed like every road around them was closed.

Hello fellow Okies. I'm in Edmond. Going to WDW in May. For those that drive from here, which way do you go that seems to be the best route.

Well even though you are an OSU fan I will answer you. J/K

We take I-40 out to Nashville then go south through Chattanooga on I-24 to I-75 through Atlanta. It will take you on in to Orlando. It is a very nice trip. Much better than going down through Texas & Louisiana.

You could also go by way of Memphis to Birmingham. It is about the same time wise but I prefer staying on the interstate.

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I am in Alabama but my mom is from Lawton and I still have some relatives, some I don't even know, that still lives there. You are going to have a great time here on the boards but I don't know if anyone else has warned you they are very addictive and you may never clean your house or cook dinner again! :goodvibes

I'm in Piedmont and it was the same way here....we had to take Highway 4 into and out of town. If we tried to go thru Deer Creek like we always do it was a no go.

We've have always gone thru Texas and Louisana....we got a trip tik from AAA and they highly recommend this route.

How's the travel in Atlanta? This is the only reason we haven't tried this other way.

When are you going? We'll be there May 27-June 2. My grandparents are driving from Norman, but we're flying.

That was how we used to go because AAA recommended it. Last summer my sister, mom, dad and niece met us in Orlando. They went through Texas to get to Orlando. They came back the way I said and much preferred it. We have not driven through Texas to get there for years.

We stopped going through Louisiana after our van got broken in to several years ago.

We have never had problems with the traffic in Atlanta. There is usually a lot of construction south of Atlanta but we always ran in to that on I-10 past Pensacola. It just seems to take us less time with the way we go now.

Speaking of crazy water everywhere? Anyone in Central OK been past Riverwind/McDonald's on Hwy 9? I passed by on my way to Lawton yesterday, and McDonald's and that gas station are surrounded by water. It's like McDonald's island.
