Hello from OK!

Sooner!!

My secret to getting season football tickets was to actually ENROLL in classes! I killed 2 birds with one stone!:cool1:

Good plan! I am hoping to get picked for season tickets this year. This will be my last year for student tickets.

I'm still here counting down the days until our trip. This semester is kicking my butt too, so our trip is the light at the end of the tunnel. :beach:

I caught this thread totally by accident. :wave2: I'm orignally from rural Caddo county now located in Mississippi by way of Charlotte North Carolina (I have a job where I'm required to travel). I lived in Norman from 2000-2005 and loved every minute of it, especially football saturdays! Our house was close enough to hear the crowd and fireworks! We're headed to our happy place :cool1: , AKA WDW in 20 days....I ..I mean, WE can't wait. Maybe one of those days we'll all wear our Sooner Shirts...(my husband-being a LA native refuses to wear anything but LSU in public)--talk about a house divided during football season :sad2: This year was especially tough... That's just another excuse, I mean reason I MUST visit Florida this Spring Break.....I must lift my spirits before the red and white game....:cheer2:

Boomer!

Where did you live? My family is from Anadarko. I'm from Norman.

When are you going? I'd be headed out right after I graduate, but we have to wait until my niece gets out of school on the 22nd, so we're going on the 27th.

We'll be there the 17th through the 24th. DD will miss the last 3 days of school, but she's only in Pre-K. I'm taking classes this summer, so we're fitting our trip in between semesters.

Where in Caddo county? :grouphug:

Hey we probably know each other, or of each other anyway! I'm from Anadarko and Carnegie (lived in both places over the years). Nice to meet ya!

Hi Mandilyn,
We will have to try to do a 'meet':grouphug: . We'll be there from the 16th through the 23rd. We took advantage of the Universal/Islands of Adventure 7 day tickets hoping to hit the Mardi Gras parade and Kool and the Gang Concert on the 22nd. :rolleyes1 My youngest children 9 and 5 aren't big into scary rides, so I'm hoping we'll find stuff to do there. I know they like the Disney parks. Since we'll be there for 7 days, I am very undecided on how many park day tickets to buy for WDW 3- 4- or 5 days. If they really like US/IOA--we might spend more time there, but if they don't I'll buy more Disney days. :goodvibes We're not park hopper fans, so that's not really an option. Too many decisions...too little time!

Got another Okie! We will be going to the World Spring Break (March 15th-20th) Will be my DD's 1st time and me and DH have not been in 15 years. Can't wait...any words of advise???

Hi KimsCandid
My best advice for you is to wear comfortable shoes! I made the mistake of buying new athletic shoes the week before our last trip---blood blisters:headache: not good! Also, with kids 10 and under invest in the double stroller from the parks for the length of stay---someone is bound to crash out throughout the day, they are very easy to maneuver! Oh yea and one more thing, don't forget to ask for the free ice water! ;)

Hey Okies!! The Norman Just Between Friends sale starts tomorrow!! I've been helping set up, and there are TOOOOOONS of great Disney bargains! Clothes, movies, toys, room decor, etc. I've got my eye on a $5 WDW snow globe and some $3 Cars t-shirts for DS. It runs from about 10-6 until Saturday, maybe open late on Thursday. Check JBFSale.com for actual hours. I'll be volunteering Wednesday morning, so PM if you'll be there then so I can say hi!

I loved that sale! Always made out pretty well. Good luck!

Hello all you Oklahomans!

I'm in Tulsa and planning a trip for May 13-21!!

I'm not from OK, but your name, Blisskitty, is interesting. We have a cat named Bliss and when I saw the post it caught my eye.

Have fun in May!

We usually do pretty well. :thumbsup2 I stopped by today to pick up some bigger items I bought at the pre-sale last night, and I saw a lady buying a bunch of DS's oufits. :cool1: Gotta love seein' that!!

Well, I got my $5 Walt's 100th snow globe, probably 7 $3 Cars shirts, a Cars basketball uniform, a big Goofy shaking car (for $1!!), and $4 Mickey t-shirt and shorts set and a princess lamp for my niece (for $3.50!). Those are the Disney buys, but I ended up spending $350!! :scared1: That's the most I've spent on one JBF spree. Last time I even bought two big outdoor climbing toys. Too many good deals to pass up. I told myself only to buy basics and save for WDW, but look what I did. :rotfl: I still have the half price sale to peruse. Now I just have to hope we sell everything we consigned so maybe I break even. Oops!

This is probably no bueno for me (and my wallet), but there's also one in OKC in two or three weeks. It's bigger with more stuff for me to buy. Looks like we'll be eating saltines and drinking from water fountains in WDW.

I have a bunch of stuff in the sale too! I didn't find as many goodies as you did though, but I did spend $85.00. I'll be working tomorrow afternoon.

Spent $100 and some change this evening at the half price presale. $1 shirts, $2 skirts (for my niece) and $2 movies!! :thumbsup2 I may stop by tomorrow, but we have a funeral to go to in the morning in Carnegie, so I don't know if we'll make it back in time. If I do, I'll wander the building looking for someone else with that "I'd rather be in Disney" look on her face!

Were in Okie land too. We went last year with DD age 5 using a portable oxygen concentrator. Disboards are fully of info.
