Disney Store Japan’s UniBestiez Series Returns with New Chip and Dale-Inspired Characters

Disney Store Japan is back with the third instalment of its original “UniBestiez” series, this time introducing two playful bird characters inspired by Chip and Dale. First launched in 2025, the UniBestiez line tells the story of Mickey, Minnie, and their friends at Disney University as they work together on a class project to create a whimsical animal encyclopedia.



The expansion of the collection sees the addition of two adorable new characters. The first is Pic Bird, a responsible but mischievous bird whose two-toned beak and back resemble Chip. The second is Ela Bird, a playful bird with a pink beak and feathery head tuft inspired by Dale. The new characters will be available as compact plush toys and plush keychains designed for collecting.


Alongside the new characters, Disney Store is also releasing a wider UniBestiez-themed merchandise line featuring vibrant artwork.


Highlights include plush keychains featuring Mickey holding Mocha and Yeck Rabbits, and Minnie holding Pudding and Ain Rabbits. Fans can also find a variety of practical goods and souvenirs, including eco bags, stainless steel bottles, stationery items such as notepads and clear files, and a boxed sticker set packaged like a miniature illustrated book.

Fans can find the new merchandise at Disney Store locations across Japan and online starting March 22.

There’s something special about discovering Disney magic where you least expect it, like surrounded by taxis, towering buildings, and theatregoers right in the middle of Times Square.

I shared my experience shopping at Disney Store Times Square during the holiday season, and am excited to now have a space for anyone browsing Disney Parks Blog to discover all the details about the store’s new product arrivals, upcoming events, and more.

Visiting Disney Store Times Square

Disney Store Times Square is located in the heart of Manhattan, just steps from the Great White Way, so it is easily accessible if you’re seeing a show (bonus points if it is a current Disney on Broadway production).

The two-story space is full of enchantment everywhere you look with overflowing shelves of products, immersive displays, and friendly cast members bringing the spirit of Disney to the Big Apple.

Walking into the store feels like stepping out of the concrete jungle and into a storybook – you are immediately transported to a world where familiar characters and stories meet the creativity and charm of NYC.

Classic Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse plush embrace their status as city symbols, and you can find iconography like pretzels, taxis, and even some of those quintessential landmarks I mentioned across merchandise.

Disney Store Times Square is more than a regular retail space or a way to keep the magic alive between vacations; it is a one-of-a-kind celebration of Disney storytelling in one of the world’s most iconic, fast-paced places. For fans (like me) looking to blend their love of both Disney and New York City, this is truly the perfect place to shop.

I was there earlier this year and was sad to see the second level has been closed. Going up the escalator was such a fun experience with how the ceiling was decorated. The store is pretty small without the second story.
