Heres one of the many funny OU related stories that I have...

During the ice storm my son and I went to a hotel for a night when we lost power. We were checking in and the hotel clerk said Terrible weather isnt it? At which point my 5 year old replied...This is Texas weather because texas sucks! *I know..terrible that my 5 year old said that..but I got a laugh*

Well welcome to you too. Where are you living now?

Goodness the list of what not to miss is huge. The best advice I can give is to do all that you can while still having a great time and leave the rest for another trip.

Our must do's:

MK - all the mountians, Pirates, Buzz, Peter Pan, Mickey's Philharmagic, the night time parades & fireworks, daytime parade if you have never done it, the rest of Fantasy Land if you have little ones (make sure you do Fantasy Land first if you do). For a nice way to relax a little while hop on the TTA in Tomorrow Land and take a spin or two around. Also the Tiki Room in Adventure Land has a cute little show and is another way to sit and relax. Our favorite CS here is Cosmic Rays.

MGM - RNRC, TOT, Beauty & the Beast, Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Lights Motor Action Stunt Show, Little Mermaid, the parade & Fantasmic. If you are going to do Fantasmic try to book an dinner package, we prefer to dine at Hollywood & Vine (this will save you a seat and you won't have to spend over an hour standing in line waiting to get a seat).

EPCOT - Soarin, Turtle Talk with Crush, Mission Space, Test Track and Illuminations. The Innoventions places are pretty neat too, as are the different countries.

AK - Expedition Everest (multiple times if Ally has her way - and she usually does), Kilamanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur, and my least favorite ride - Primevil Hurl, I mean Whirl. The Festival of the Lion King is not to be missed, you won't find a better show anywhere. I have heard the the new Nemo show is also very good but the wait was too long last summer and out in the sun so we haven't done it yet. AK also has my favorite parade.

My favorite CS here is Flame Tree Barbeque but the kids favorite is Pizzafari.

Our favorite water park is Blizzard Beach.

Favorite places to eat:
Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Ohana for breakfast, Donald's @ AK for breakfast, Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Beaches & Cream.

Wow, thanks for the information! I'm looking at doing a 5-7 day trip this time around. Its going to both a vacation and a "get to know you" event for everyone involved.

I have never been on one but was wondering if a Disney Cruise would be a better or worse situation. I want a fun environment where we can all spend alot of time together. Thanks in advance!!

Wow!!! Look at all the Sooners here tonight...This is great i am mainly a lurker for all the great info but do post on occassion.
I was lucky enough to be at the world during our last Sooner debacle so the pain was a little easier to take if you mean what i know.

Great story about my son and the Sooners after moving to a new neighborhood last summer my son was getting to know alot of the new kids an we were eating dinner one night and asking about all his new friends and he told us one the boys he had gotten to know came from a mixed family, i winced expecting the worse then exclaimed that the boys mother was for OSU and the Dad was for Ou, needless to say me and my wife got quite a laugh. just wanted to say hey to everybody we are planning are next trip this fall in hopes they will offer free dining once again. Wow, thanks for the information! I'm looking at doing a 5-7 day trip this time around. Its going to both a vacation and a "get to know you" event for everyone involved.

Ok..I am concerned over this national ID thing..anyone else heard about it? 17 states *including Oklahoma* have not agreed to the govt plan to do it..as of may 08 people in those 17 states will not be allowed to board an airplane using their state id...what????? Am I going to have to get a passport to go to Florida???

My oldest son played hs football against Curtis. He just could not get over how much bigger he got once he got to OU.

My oldest daughter went to hs with Jason White. Actually oldest ds was constantly being mistaken for Jason if we were in OKC and he had on a Tuttle hoodie. I never saw it but lots of other people sure did. The injuries Jason suffered were awful. People never got to see the real Jason play football. The kid was amazng.

Losing Lofton is a BIG BIG LOSS!

Being around the guys you get to see the GOOD, the BAD and the down right UGLY. It does bother me. I understand CL leaving....I just OU would not be a stepping stone for so many. We've lost that "WE ARE OKLAHOMA"...I think it's more like "WE ARE GOING TO THE NFL thanks to OKLAHOMA".

My DH was in a panic over this a couple of nights ago. We had already planned to get passports sometime this year b/c we're going on an Alaskan cruise next year. (Yes, I know it's part of the US, but we'll be in Canadian waters sometimes. )

So...does anyone have any more info on this? I can't imagine that they wouldn't allow us to board a flight that we've already had scheduled for months. The number of people traveling times 17 states sure would make for an even longer wait for passports. There's no way they could have those all filled by summer. Plus, what about people who have family emergencies & need to fly somewhere? I'm thinking this is just a temporary scare & nothing will come of it. What do you think?

Couldn't find a 2T "Beat Texas" shirt, so I made one. He was running around Day Out With Thomas yelling "BOOOO TEXAS!!"

OK, like I said, I'm in Norman. I'm a stylist, so come see me if you need to get your hair done!! That's really kind of a ploy to get someone to talk Disney with me at work! Do you guys get the eye rolls, too? Haha!! I think people tune me out when I say Disney now.

Anyway, we're running New Year deals or send your loves over to buy you a Valentine gift certificate!! And when you come to see me, bring Disney pics!! It's our first family trip, so I'm brimming with visions of ADRs, autograph books and planning journals right now!!!

Hey it has been a month since any of us posted here. How is everyone doing? How's the planning going?

Next weekend is my 100 days until our trip!

DH went ahead & got his passport. I have everything I need, but I can't figure out how to get to the county clerks office before 3 b/c I teach. I guess I'll just go during Spring Break & hope that it's enough time to get my passport back before June. This is so stupid that we have to do this.
