Hi...I'm a newly registered member although I have been lurking for sometime now. Let me start by saying "I love Fort Wilderness!!!" I've been to the Fort many times over the years. My first trip was in 1974 when I was 8 years old. I used to love the train & the fruit cart that came around. I loved the playgrounds, basketball, swimming in the lake...River Country. We have stayed in our own camper, rental campers, Rental cabins & the last 2 trips in our TrailCruiser C21RBH in a Full Hookup site.

Well we're coming back in June but we have a new camper now..a Keystone Outback 250RS with a rear slide & side-slide. It's about 33 feet long with the rear slide out. My question is will we fit in the Full Hookup site or will we have to get a Premium??
Thanks for any input.

You will fit on a full hookup, but I would still recommend a premium. The extra space of the campsite is really nice, plus the paved patio and the ease of backing in make the premiums worth the extra money.

You will fit fine in a Full hookup site.

I wish I could have gone to the Fort in the 70s.

Oh and :welcome: to the Dis Camping Board. :disrocks:

Welcome !!! I also agree full hook up will work fine. :thumbsup2

Keep in mind that all sites are not the same size, so if you are assigned one that doesn't work for you, let the front desk know and they will change you if a better one is available. On our last visit we were assigned a small site and we just drove around until we found the one we wanted before calling in the change.

We were at FW in March in a preferred site with our 34ft Outback. The site we were in was in the 300 loop and our trailer fit, but it was not easy to get in or out of the site. The preferred sites are not as wide and seem to be closer together. With all the vehicles and golf carts parked along the loop road, t made it difficult to get out. We are going back in June with a 33ft 5'er (the Outback got rear ended on I-10 on the way home from FW) and I have a premium site reserved. I know I can fit in the premium sites and the extra space makes it easier to get in and out.

We have gone since the early '70's ourselves, and have fond memories of the train and River Country. We stayed in all kinds of sites then, but the last 15 years or so have only stayed in preferred and have never encountered a site we didn't have loads of room in. We've had a 34' MH for 10 years and before that a 5th wheel and trailers, so you won't have a problem fitting. You didn't say if you have a pet, but the 100-200 loops are "supposed" to be pet free. We saw someone two years ago smuggle in a dog, but they were caught and asked to board it, or move, if another site was available.

And I guess you know that almost everything you listed at the Fort is now gone...some for many years. But it's still the best place to stay..Disney or otherwise.

Yes... I know most of those great things are gone. Just remembering all that was. But, there are so many other great things!! It's my favorite campground!! I wish I lived closer.
