Hi, everybody! Just wanted to say hello from HHI - we got here late on Friday night and are in a grand villa for the very first time - it is Wonderful!
The weather is starting to turn a bit - we're getting a little chillier in the next day or so, but so is the rest of the nation, I guess.
Buildings near the Big Dipper Pool are getting some refurbishing of the exterior siding while we are here - the hot tub was closed until Saturday late afternoon, but is open now. Even though we are here in the off-season and refurbishing is going on, it is always so lovely here :wizard:
My family is loving the grand villa - we were to have a few other people with us on the trip, but are actually down to 5, so there is soooo much empty room here - it feels quite decadent and I am becoming spoiled.

Maybe we will all be lucky and the cold front that is heading over the eastern seaboard will change it's mind! Have a great time when you get here!:cool1:

if you go out to eat let us know where and how it was.....going there this summer

We leave this Wednesday - I think we'll stay long enough to do the resort tour at 2 p.m., and get on the road after that. We're not looking forward to driving back to snow in NJ!

It's sunny here today, but quite chilly. It rained intermittently yesterday, so we skipped the campfire. Hoping that the weather holds clear for the rest of the week :wizard: :wizard:

Took the kids over to the Beach pool yesterday - we had the place entirely to ourselves! The pool was nice & warm, but the wind really picked up in the afternoon - I let the girls swim and stayed inside that large room that is next to the pool. They were so cold as soon as they got out, lol! :goodvibes

Just got a message today: the front desk area is being renovated, so they have moved into Murgie's Den for the time being. We haven't been over there today - I'll have to see what their setup is.

Hi Ksp! You're at my favorite place. If you get a chance, go to the Mercantile and say "Hi" to Gordon for us (the "birder Timms"). What building are you in? Have you had any warm apple cider and cranberry nut cookies? Or is the temporary move of Big Murgie's Den messing that up?

Welcome to the Low Country!

It's gonna get REAL cold (at least for this area) later in the week, so, bundle up.

Are there any sales going on in the Gift shop? We have to ride over soon and if they have any specials going, well, we might just have to pop in.

Stay warm!

Here it is Wednesday already and this is our checkout day; the sun is out, it is chilly here -will reach the 50s today. Yesterday we stayed in the villa, since it rained on again/off again all day. I think we will try to take the resort tour, since today is Member Wednesday. Time for some packing up, cleaning up and last photos of the trip. Although I am sad to leave, it is time we got home; I must be honest and say that I miss our cats (!) and am looking forward to getting back to them. (But I am not looking forward to the snow!)
Have a great time when you get here, Mickey's Apprentice! My daughter highly recommends the hot wings over at Signals. :goodvibes

Another vote for the Wings at Signals, but, Joyce's Burgers are the best! Make sure to say HI to Joyce!

Did you get to Signe's?

The hot apple cider in Murggie's Den was just what I needed on our final chilly day. We took the tour of the resort - Carol was our guide - and now I finally know what FDC is for . . .

The temporary front desk is kind of wedged in to Murggie's Den - and there is a strong smell of varnish, but we did still enjoy a few games of pool and checkers before we left on Wednesday.

We headed over to Signals for the hot wings - but they were out of wings at Signals, so my DD had to settle for a burger. The CM there was so nice - she give DD a free ice cream to make up for the disappointment (we had come over specifically for the wings that day).

Oh - and there weren't any discounts over in the mercantile while we were there, sorry, Conan the Librarian.

We were sad to leave -

OMG, it sounds like a stay to HHI without a trip to Signe's.:scared1: Oh, well-that just means that you'll HAVE to go back to HHI!

Aha! Now I have just the excuse I needed! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
We were going to try Kingfisher's, but it was closed - January is the low season :confused3 DH said it was closed, but possibly open on the weekend.
We will get there next time!!!
