Hello from Cypress Pointe

SandyinCanada,

Well we are home again, time goes by so fast. . .
I was just catching up on things and was glad to hear that you are enjoying your stay at Cypress Pointe.
As I mentioned on another post, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and when I asked my husband what he would rate it out of 10, he said a 9, which I totally agree. Our whole family had a wonderful time at this resort.
Thinking of you enjoying the Florida sunshine :sunny:

I'm not on this board often, so I apologize if these questions have been asked before. Since Cypress Pointe is a timeshare resort, are you expected to listen to a sales pitch when you rent from them? Do you have to provide your own linens or eating utensils etc? Thanks in advance.

We booked through HotelKingdom, and we were not required to attend a time share presentation. Although you do get invited to attend once you are there, we just declined - no problem. I am not sure how this works if you book through somewhere else.

There was everything we needed as far as kitchen amenities. Toaster, coffee maker, blender, frying pans and even a mixer. They did include all the dishes & utensils.

Linens and towels were also provided. When we arrived we also got a starter pack of soaps, shampoo, dishwasher soap, dishwashing soap and a pack of tide laundry detergent.

We just returned, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask, I'd be more than happy to help.

Thanks for your help Sandra. The prices through Hotelkingdom are amazing. Kind of makes me wonder why I've stayed onsite so often.

I do have a questions.......

We are staying at CPR for a week the end of April, and I realize all of the rooms will be remodeled by then. However, what type of mattresses did they put in? Any chance they ~splurged~ and at least went with a pillow top? Are they comfortable?

hi Sandra, Welcome home. We'll be home Sat already, 10 days fly by way too fast.

Nancy, ditto to what Sandra said...they asked us if we were interested and we said no, and that was that. They have come in twice in the last 9 days, once to replace the towels, sheets and supplies and they were in again today and again replaced everything and cleaned the place...I was surprised and pleased. I now have 3 dish soaps and tons of packs of coffee, lol.

Jeremy, there is a skinny pillow top. The mattress is firm but comfy enough, I've seen alot worse, lol.

Thanks for the help Sandy! 10 minutes door to door? That is about what it would take to POP I would think. Would you say about 20 min for MK since we would have to get on the "big boat"? Can anyone give me directions from CP to MK?

Also have anyone got a 3 bedroom that had 1King, 2 doubles, 2 twins? We have 8 going and that would give everyone a bed without using the sleeper sofa! If I could get that arrangement at either CP or CPGV then I would choose one over the other because of it.

Finially is this resort in Kissimee? I am tring to find it VRBO. Thanks much for the help! Maybe I'll be brave and book off site, everyone has been so happy with it! :wizard:

We thought the beds at the resort were quite comfortable. My husband has had serious back problems and an uncomfortable matress can really raise havoc with him.
We noticed after we left the resort and were staying at other hotels that we missed the beds at Cypress, being king size was also a bonus though.
Have a wonderful holiday!

Disneycrazymom, according to The Unofficial Guide, it takes 14 minutes and 15 seconds to get to the MK from Cypress Pointe (how's that for precise)? However, it seems to me that that's about how long it took to get to the TTC, and then there was another 10 minutes or so to actually get to the MK. The other times listed are 9 min. 30 sec. for Epcot, 12 min. for MGM, and 12 min. 30 sec. for AK. I would say that is about what we experienced. As for the beds, I'm fairly certain that all the villas at Cypress Pointe, be they the older ones or CPGV, have a king in the master, a king in the lockoff, and two twins in the 3rd bedroom. And it is actually located in Lake Buena Vista, about a mile (at most) from I4. I hope you try it, it beats the heck out of one of those onsite sardine cans!

Thanks Musky! I did mapquest and it says 11 minutes to MK and then I would add 10 min to get across the lake to MK. Did you experience much traffic in the am? I know what your saying about the sardine can! We have 3 Pop rooms booked right now for A LOT more than this would be. We have never stayed off site but I know we would all enjoy the extra room and the kitchen! Thanks again. :flower:

No, we really never had a problem with traffic, and we were there in August when crowds are pretty high. We tried a number of different routes - you can go through Downtown Disney, you can get on I4 or you can try the "back way" off of 535. When we tried to go that way we got lost, so I don't really know how long it might take, but since the roads were not well marked I wouldn't recommend trying that way. We found that the best way for the MK was to get on I4 and get off at exit 67 and follow the signs for the MK. This was also the best route for Epcot. For the AK we went to the second exit - Osceola Parkway - which dead ends at the AK. For MGM it was pretty much a tossup - either way was about the same. We tried going through Downtown Disney but did not care for that route. There was more traffic and too many stoplights. Taking I4, there were only a couple of stoplights on 535 before you get on I4. There was plenty of traffic on it, but it was always moving well. Hope this helps.

Yes that helps a lot! I- 4 had me worried that it would be bumper to bumper. DH does that everyday, no way did I want that for him on vacation.

We stayed at Vistana and found the same thing. Too many lights at DD. We always took I-4 and never had a problem.
