Hello from Cypress Pointe

We're finally here! Cypress Pointe is great! Our condo is large, clean, everything is working well, extra blankets, pillows, even night lights in the hall and bathrooms. Ceiling fans all over, even inthe balcony, lol.

Anyways, no worries, guys. We are very pleased.

Glad to hear you are at CP! We stayed at CPGV last March and will be arriving at CP in 37 days......what building would you recommend to ask for? Thanks and enjoy your trip!

Thanks, I am getting ready to book this for May, It makes me feel better that everyone enjoys there stay there!! Is there a big difference from the Cypress pointe and the Cypress pointe grand villas ?
Thanks !!

I did CPGVs 3 times, paying more for it b/c it was newer. Now that CPR has been remodeled, I like that I pay less for what feels newer. [Building may have been built earlier but has new HDTV with surround sound, dvd players, new mattresses, carpet, sheets, etc.] Do a search and you'll find lots of information about differences. CPGVs are a little larger and the 3 br sleeps 10 were CPR sleeps 8. You have more pantry room and bathroom privacy within the master in CPGVs. CPR will start getting more RCI exchanges since renovations complete (not done but you can't book a non-renovated room since last set of rooms are getting worked on, there are no yucky units available to give out) and what it does farm out to Hotelkingdom will sell out faster than the past. I would book May. I have booked Dec already thru HK, right before prices went up 6%. It's a $20 cancel fee if something comes up but I think its worth it to lock it in. Good luck.

Ummm, would you believe that we've been so busy that I've hardy had time to look around the resort, lol. DS says theres a great games room with pool, air hockey, etc. We are taking it slower tomorrow (going to Cirque in the early evening) so I will definately get out and check everything out better and let you know.

The internet (high speed) is only at CP as far as I know, just plug your laptop into the wall and instructions came up to connect. We are paying 38.00 for 2 weeks, that was cheaper than the 10 day rate...works great!

We are in 7304, sort of end spot, near the pool. Alot of cars here but its very quiet.

2Minnies, see if Bldg 4 will be finished, so far that looks like it has the best view. We techneically face a parking lot but on the 3rd floor so its not bad and we spend alot of time on the balcony when we are at the condo.

No complaints so far anyways....my DH was shocked when he saw it considering the price, its a steal.

Thank you for posting, Sandy! I hope you and your family are having a really nice time. :cool1: Your positive reviews are getting us even more excited for our upcoming trip! I'll look forward to reading your next installment...and could I ask a question? You mentioned your son checked out the games room...does it cost $$ to play pool or air hockey and is the equipment there? I expect there are probably some arcade games that cost $$. TIA! :flower:

Hello all!!

We are just getting home from our great week long stay at Cypress Pointe. We were even in the same building as Sandy - we were in unit 7301! We really enjoyed our stay and the location was fantastic. The only downside to us (strictly a matter of preference) was the lack of door on the master bathroom. We just used the other bathroom to shower in the morning so as not to wake the other person still sleeping. I would recommend this resort and would stay here again.

:goodvibes Thanks to all who are posting these awesome reviews!!!!Now can anyone make my ticker go faster!!!!!

Hi all,

Hey, Roxanne...we were neighbors, thats cool and now that we've been here a few days, yes, I agree, Bldg 7 is a good location...go out one side and you have the CP pool, the other side and you have the CPGV pools.

Looks like pool and air hockey are 1.00 a game. Haven't really been there yet but it looks pretty cool. Still very happy here. They came in today and changed the towels, bedding and replenished the welcome pack (Tide, paper towels, etc). We've used the whirlpool tub several times, lol. Using the master bathroom during the night is fine as there is a nightlight you can turn on so you won't wake up your partner.

Theres a take out/delivery place on site...has pizza, wings, subs, burgers...decent prices.

There are alot of cars here but I can sit out in the balcony and its so quiet, very nice.

It would be nice to have a door on the master toilet but not a big deal, we use the other toilet mostly and just lock the bedroom door for showers, etc.

We really didn't see a huge difference between CP and CPGVs in the pools, grounds, etc (didn't see the rooms).

I really can't think of any tips or hints but if you have any questions......

Sandy

I was just wondering - when you travel to WDW from Cypress Pointe, how many tolls do you go through, if any??
How much is the toll fee?

Thanks!

Chantal

Hi everyone, glad to hear such great reviews. From this board and Tug2 site, we've booked a 2 bedroom trade-in through RCI at Cypress Pointe for October 14 - 21 and are really excited! (Hopefully any hurricanes will have come and gone in September (or not at all!) we were at Pop Century last year for Hurricane Ivan - I think it was Ivan, there were so many) anyways the pictures I've seen look really nice. My one question is besides the volcano pool, is there any kind of spray ground pool for the younger kids?
Thanks for any help!

More details on this please! Is there a "store" type place that would sell milk or soda?

Did you return to the resort during the day from the Disney Parks? I am booked right now at Pop with 3 rooms (8 people). I really wanted to try off site this trip but have "chickened out" ! The older kids really think they are going to use the Extra Evening Hours. I don't know? That would mean being in the parks until 12am or later and then they won't want to get up in the morning when the 5 year old will want to go. Maybe I'm just over thinking things. We have a condo at the lake and I LOVE to vacation there, it is so easy but then again it's mine so this won't be the same. Kids say it's more of a vacation in a hotel, I don't know what to think, but thanks for listening! :wave2:

Theres a small grocery store at the pool, they have bit of everything there from junk food to can goods, milk, bread, soda, etc. I haven't really looked too closely as WINN-Dixie is around the corner and we pop into there on our way home from something....Winn-dixie would be walkable as well.

Disneycrazymom, we tend to "park" all day but some of the parks are closed early in the winter. DW is only 5 min away from this resort. Grab the shuttle (if necessary) to your car and your back at your condo in 10 min. I don't think it would be a big deal at all. We used to do hotel rooms when the kids were smaller, now we all like the space and some privacy. I love the fact that someone can sit on the balcony while another is in their room watching TV, and others are in the livingroom, etc..instead of being on top of each other in one room.

Hey, do any of you have any pictures you can post of the place? Interested to see pics of the rooms and the pool mostly but would love to see whatever you've got. Is there a website with more than the one generic room picture? I've seen that one! I was hoping to find a close up of the pools and slides but not luck.

Anyway, if you've got pics, post 'em! Please

Hi!

We are going on the 5/5/05Wonder, followed by a WDW stay until 5/14/05. DH's sister's family is booked at ASMo, because dn11 will be performing with her dance troupe at MK that week. My ds's (12 & 10) are venting, because she will be able to do EMH and we won't. We have a pending request for all 5 DVC resorts for that week, but are getting more and more fidgety as we get closer. Our exchanges have been approved at OKW for the past 3 years, but we're figuring that because of the 50th Celebration, our chances are much lower to stay on-site. We absolutely love staying on-site.

Also, with the new MYW Dining, we would be able to purchase these staying on-site ($35/adult, $10/child), which would save us $$$. Doing the math it would cost us about $400 more to eat the same amount off the plan.

We're going to hold off for a few more weeks until the hours and EMH are posted for May.

Thanks again & have a super week!

Sorry, missed your question earlier. I don't think so. The volcano pool also has slides that younger kids seem to love though.

Hi, You may do better posting this question as a new thread. I know Sammi has great pics and there are also some good websites but all my favorites are on my home computer. This one will give you a virtual tour though:
