Height requirements, please!

Hi all!

I've found some discrepancies with the height requirement for Popeye I've seen in books and online. Could someone please tell me whether it is 42 or 48 inches.

Believe it or not, this will probably make or break a summer trip for us!!! LOL!!

Due to individual seatbelts, the height requirement was lowered to 42 inches.

Same as MIB and JP: River Adventure.

It's strange this subject should come up.

My son was below the height requirement when we went in 2000 which surprised us at the time. We too thought the height requirement was 42".

I am pretty certain you will find it is 48". I've just checked the Brit's Guide and that says 4 ft (ie 48 ") also.

The height requirement must've lowered after your trip, pegasus. It's been 42" for quite a while now.

It definitely opened at 48 inches. It definitely got reduced to 42 inches later.

It happens all the time. Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom opened at 46 inches and it's now 40 inches.

When in doubt check the official site. IOA, US and WDW list all the height requirements for their attractions on their websites. Guidebooks do not always have the most up-to-date information.

Thank you all for that clarification!

We agreed to wait to do US/IOA with the kids until they could ride everything they wanted to, and this was the last holdout!!! At CA this is the fave ride for my youngest, so I couldn't have him sit it out at IOA!

If you are talking about the Popeye's raft barges, my 4 year old just rode that at IOA. She is only about 41 and 1/2". The man measuring her said "close enough" and let her ride.
