Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to the CSR we go! A Feb PTR 2/28 Trip report started!!!

OOOO...your day three looks like so much fun, I wish I was going to be there....wait...I am! :lmao: At least for part of it! I have to forward that to my mom so she can see the drinks! I would love a mojito and some sunshine right now.

Its funny about what appeals to people about different resorts. I, too, would love to stay in a tower room (or even a garden wing room) at CR and we almost did this trip...in the end though, without any guarantee of a discount, there was no way I could justify the expense. When we were looking at mods for our last trip, I remember wishing that there was a resort with more modern-styled rooms, like at CR. I have this thing about icky polyester bedspreads! :confused3 I had been leaning toward POFQ because the grounds are so pretty and I've always wanted to go to New Orleans, but the sight of the rooms stopped me in my tracks. No way. To me they look like the Holiday Inn around the corner. In other words, every other decent hotel in the U.S.. Then I saw pictures of the rehabbed rooms at CSR and I fell in love! There was exactly what I was looking for: reasonable price with modern room interiors. The grounds aren't too bad, either! :rotfl: We actually liked the Disney busses and thought transportation from CSR was amazing, which had been one of my concerns. Some guidebooks make it sound like its in another state, practically.

OKW looks really pretty, but I think without a car (and we like NOT driving at Disney) it would be kind of tough. We really want to stay at AKL someday, though.

Sorry that was so long! :goodvibes I'm just so excited and when I'm down and suffer a small setback (as we did today...long, boring story that is a certain part of my life) I can come on here and read another outstanding update from you! :thumbsup2

Day 3 sounds perfect! Shopping, Via Napoli, relaxing with drinks, MK, Cali Grill....AWESOME!

Hooray to getting that ADR to Le Cellier at the beginning of your trip!

Will MSEP still be there in February?

Mmmmm, I'm looking forward to all the food......I'll be eating with you guys in spirit!:thumbsup2

Loved the pix of the Parade !! I am still a Spectro Fan but the new parade is pretty good too!!!

I love your Day 3 plans! My favorite part is the Sleeping In!! How do you sleep in at WDW? :goodvibes

I love how you tell your plans through pictures, I can visualize it so well. However they make me even more anxious and excited to get there, only 5 weeks and 1 day left. YAHOO!!! Your plans sound great, sleeping in, and just taking it easy as you go along.

I am glad you like it ........ pictures make it so much more real for me! ;) Even more excitement! I don't know if I can manage any more! :lmao:

It is President's Day, so the parks will be packed .... I don't want to stress out over crowds, and we will still have to adjust the 6 hour time change, so a lazy day sounds good to us!

My mouth is once again watering looking at your pics! I am having tuna casserole tonight and just got a "Ugh" from my hubby lol!

Tuna casserole sounds yum! Maybe you should have taken a photo and posted it! ;)
Great you are still enjoying the pre-trippie!

Long posts are fun! :thumbsup2
I am so looking forward to having some drinks with you and your lovely family and watch Max play! I am counting on you! :thumbsup2

Yes, it is funny to read about what draws someone into a certain resort - for us it has always been the "non-hotel" feel. Don't get me wrong - I absolutely don't mind staying at a hotel. But at a place like WDW I want to experience that extra touch.
That's why I love the Cabanas so much - they look and feel like their own little community, same with the Ranchos.
Same with OKW, it's like a little community. There are only a few villas per building, so you don't have the "hotel" feel. And the 1 br villas are huge! 962 sq. feet! That is twice the size of my flat! :lmao:
As for not getting around - OKW has a really good internal bus service and loads of pick up points around the resort. I am just not the bus person, and I enjoy having Tom do the driving, which he loves! :goodvibes
It's funny but the GF never called my name! We have been to the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego and ever since it just reminds me of that.
CR - it's still Walt's design. Everything and anything Walt strike a cord with me! ;) :lmao:

See, there's another long post! Don't ask about choosing a resort ...... this is what you get! ;) :lmao:

Day 3 sounds perfect! Shopping, Via Napoli, relaxing with drinks, MK, Cali Grill....AWESOME!

Thank you, Dave! I hope we can stick to our plans! :thumbsup2

I was surprised to get that ADR at Le Cellier, and it is a really nice time too!
We'll even have lunch there again at the end of our trip! ;)

MSEP will still be there in the summer - at least their park hours for July still show it and I doubt they will change it mid summer! :thumbsup2

I'll have a dole whip float in your honour, Yuki!

I know that most of you are Spectro Fans, but I just LOVE the MSEP! First ever Disney nighttime parade I saw! Still gives me goosebumps!

:woohoo: another one who approves of my Day 3 plans! Yeah, sleeping in sounds good, doesn't it! I need to add that we both get up real early in real life. Tom gets up at 3.30am and I get up at 5,15am, so sleeping until 8am IS sleeping in for us! :rotfl2: And that is still early enough to get a few things done at WDW! :goodvibes

I'm going to see what kind of strings I can pull for this August....It might even be a solo trip! I wonder if I can disappear for a couple of days without my parents being too suspicious....

Wow, MSEP is just taking over Spectro! I've never seen Spectro, and didn't see much of MSEP, so I really can't pick one over the other. But MSEP has those AWESOME Fairies and dragon floats!

Yaaay! I'll be enjoying the dole whip in my mind. Mmmmm

Unfortunately, Andrew hasn't been ITCHING to go back to Disney yet. He doesn't know what he's missing!

I'm going to start to do some research. Maybe there's a way for me to spend 3-4 days down there without breaking the bank.

EDIT: Ok, I just looked up a bunch of numbers and it's looking really doable! You said you wanted to add some cruises in your Aug dates, right? When will you be in WDW?

Hey Rosie, I heard the same thing!

Yeah, I'd love to meet Samantha! :yay: This is going to be fun!! :dance3:

Andrew is not ready to go back? :scared1: You need to work harder on him, Yuki! :lmao:

It would be so much fun if you could make it! We will arrive in Orlando on August 13 and leave for the Dream on August 21! We'll stay on the Dream for 11 nights (3 cruises) before we head back to WDW from Sept 1 to 10!
I hope you can make it work - Rosiemeet is on Aug 19!!! :goodvibes

I guess by then it will be time for lunch.

IMG_7375.jpg

If it is not too cold we will stay at the Animal Kingdom and hit Flame Tree Barbeque for some ribs and pulled pork.

IMG_7344.jpg

If it is cold we will just leave and head over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to Mara. I guess those Zebra Domes are calling my name.
After lunch we will most probably head over to the Beach Club Resort for some ice-cream from Beaches and Cream.
