Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to the CSR we go! A Feb PTR 2/28 Trip report started!!!

We got LOADS of snow! Thankfully it is managable here in the city, but in the little village where I teach it is just too much! It's very windy, as the little village is on top of a hill and there are lots of drifts, so driving is a nightmare! :scared1: Can't wait for spring, or at least some warmer weather!

I checked the refurbishment schedule for the waterparks and Typhoon Lagoon should be open, so I'll just bring our swimming stuff with us, in case it is warm enough to really spend half a day there. :woohoo:

The city I live in is VERY WINDY as well. The commute from Toronto to Waterloo can get so windy, I'm afraid to drive at the speed limit, my car just rocks! And it's an SUV too!!

That sounds like a good plan for TL. If not, you still have CSR's pool to lounge in.

Drive by visit to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Advent Calendar!!!! Can hardly wait until tomorrow!

Enjoy your days off :goodvibes....as soon as I get all the paperwork completed for financial assistance for my hospital bills will answer your email. :teeth: Thank you! Always a such a nice surprise to find a note. ::yes::

Subbing, I love, love, love all the beautiful pics of the resort and the food of course. Makes me hungry! I will post more later today after I get all caught up.

Welcome! It's so nice to have another reader! :goodvibes

We've never done the water parks, just too busy I guess, maybe someday.

SNOW!!! YUCK!!! I am sure we'll be getting it soon. In fact 1-3 inches tomorrow but since it's almost 50 today I can't imagine it sticking around. By the time we go in February there should be a lot on the ground here and be really, cold that's why I love going in February. We are going Feb 11-18 maybe til the 19th if I can pull a few strings.

I was not around for your last PTR but excited to follow you with this one. We leave about 10 days before you, we head out on the 9th for the 20+hour drive with 4 kids from Michigan down to Disney.

Hopefully you can stop by and check out my ptr and give me some advice and opinions!

Guess what, in all the time we spent at Disney (and we usually stay for 4 weeks we have NEVER even THOUGHT about a water park. Now this year they had a billboard up, which really did the trick! :lmao: We tried it and we LOVED it! :thumbsup2
So maybe a waterpark in February (if it isn't as cold as last year! :lmao:) might be a fun idea - the more I think about it! :goodvibes

We got lots of snow and I could so do without it! Yuck! It's cold, it's wet, it's slippery!!!!!!!! :sad2: And the weather forcast said that it is going to stay! :scared1:

Like you we love going in February because of the snow at home - so nice to go somewhere where it is actually warmer than at home and skies are blue ........... and it is DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I AM addicted! :lmao:

Wow! A 20+ hour drive! You are my hero! :worship: It would take us about 12 hours to drive to DLRP, but I just can't stand the thought of having to sit in the car for that long. Guess I am getting old! ;)

We seem to have a lot in common, Yuki! Only difference, my car is tiny and driving through the drifts can get challenging! But let's not talk about winter!

I talked to Tom again today about the water park idea and he goes along with it! We'll have to see what the weather will be like, but so far I am holding on to the idea of visiting Typhoon Lagoon!

It's fun to see so many people have already visited the Advent Calendar! I hope you will get even more excited tomorrow! Tom worked really hard to put it together for all of you! He's really good at things like it!

I am glad you got the email! Watch out for your little thank you in a few more days! :goodvibes

I'm hopping on board! Looks like you have a great plan already in place, but you are right, it's still far enough out that it can be changed at any time! :lmao:

I just did the Wishes dessert party for the first time on my last trip. I loved it! It helps that I like dessert a lot.

It's nice that there's someone else out there that travels with their brother. Most people think there's something wrong with me for vacationing with my bro! :rotfl:

I checked out the advent calendar! I can't wait to see what else it has in store for us! Tom did a really good job!

Welcome! Great to have you here too!

I am someone who just LOVES to make plans and then change them again ....... and again ........ and again! :rotfl2:
So I guess my plans are not all that final!

We did the Wishes Dessert Party when they first started ....... and I love desserts too, we went to three parties during a four week visit! :goodvibes

Nothing wrong with travelling with ones brother! We have a lot of fun and having very similar interests helps a lot! :)

I am glad you like it, Yuki! There are lots more yummy treats hidden! Stay tuned! :thumbsup2

Hi, Karin! I can't believe that you already have snow over there! Do they cancel school is Austria when there's big snow? When it snows here and they can't clear the roads and the busses before start time, we don't have school. :cool1: Always a nice, unexpected treat!

I am with you and hoping that the weather is so much warmer this year than it was last year. I am really banking on how "abnormal" last winter was in Florida. I know we won't make a waterpark, but I so want some serious pool time at the Dig Site. Even one day in the 70's would make me soooooo happy. I'm sure you understand the feeling that compared with a northern winter, the 60's and 70's feel pretty darn good. :cool1:

We got dumped with snow, Tina! :scared1: More than I like, lots more!

No, they don't cancel school here. Guess we are kind of used to getting a lot of snow and so we just fight the elements. In all the years I have been a teacher and there was only 1 day when they actually cancelled. And that day we had a horrible winter storm and NO ONE informed the teachers - we found out when we got to the school that it had been cancelled. :scared1:  Didn't laugh then! :lmao:

Yes, last year was just too cold, so I am hoping for at least a little warmer temperatures. The year before it would have been warm enough to go swimming, but then we had not discovered the water parks! :lmao:

Tina, only 11 more weeks from tomorrow on ........ yeah, can't wait!!!!

Too bad that you don't get time off for snow. I agree...I was so dissapointed by how cold it was last year. It was in the 40s when we left CT and only 50 when we landed...I thought the captain was joking!

:cool1::yay: yay another dizneeat report

:goodvibes Welcome! I am so glad to have you here! :yay:

No, unfortunately we need to deal with the snow! :lmao:

I remember checking the weather for quite some time before we went and I thought they all must have made a mistake, it CANNOT get that cold in Florida, but it did! I wore my winter coat one evening in Epcot! :scared1:
It was far colder than the week we spent at WDW in December!

Lets keep our fingers crossed for a warmer week in 2011! :thumbsup2

Yeah I am getting a tad nervous about weather as well. We have gone the end of feb before and it's always been 70's. So early Feb makes me nervous especially with last year. At least we are driving so bringing winter coats and all that will be easier. I just pray we wont need them

Karin, since you are going later in Feb at least there is hope! In 2006 we arrived on Feb 27th and I don't remember it being terribly cold - daytime was very nice. Another year we were there the first weekend in March and it was 80 to 85 day time...don't remember evenings, but we were never cold at all!

Our coldest trips were the mid January and the first weekend in Feb.....had to buy hats, gloves and scarves. Brrr All of thsoe trips were from home - Boston - so we were used to the cold, but it was freezing...wind chills and all.

Oh, and early December 2004 we had to wear hand warmers during an IllumiNations Cruise. So cold!

We NEED to take our winter coats - it's always cold when we leave for the airport and leaving the coat in the car, it would be frozen stiff! :rotfl2:
Last February we were just lucky to have our winter coats at it was really freezing one evening and I remember wearing my wintercoat and having my gloves in my bag, just in case! ;)
I am really hoping for some nicer weather next February! I need a change from the wet and cold weather here! :sad2:

I am really hoping we can make it to a water park for one day! :lmao: I am also thinking of taking the new AK tour, but being strapped into a harness and sent over a gorge with crocodiles - I am not so sure about!

Well, we still have time to decide about this one! What really draws me is that it is more affordable in the beginning! ;)

We went in December of 2007 and even though I used to wear a jacket in the evening, it was rather warm and nice. So even December can have good weather.
Then I really don't care, as long as there is a nice blue sky when I get up in the morning, than I am okay.
It's sooooooooo cold and still pitch black when I have to get up here and it is overcast and grey all day! I need to get away from that all! :cloud9:

I have to say that I completely agree. When you come from a northern, just the sun in Florida is so wonderful. :goodvibes Can't wait...getting really close! :yay::yay:

74 days, Tina!!!!!!!!

I know once Christmas is over, it'll be here in no time! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Oh wow, I had no idea the new AK tour involved that! I should research into it. Sounds like something I'd really like....

Lately, the weather has been getting colder and colder year after year! Technically, February is the coldest month in the year. I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I really hope it'll be warmer for your trip so you can check out BB. I once went to a water park when the temperature was about 20 degrees celsius and it was just too cold to enjoy the rides.

Yes, this is a brandnew tour which will start sometime in January. We are still discussing it - hanging in a harness over some hungry crocs does not sound all that fun, even though the rest of the tour really appeals to me! :confused3

We'll just bring our swim suits and decide there and then IF we want to tackle Typhoon Lagoon. :goodvibes

NEWS!!!!!!!

We booked our rental car today! Last week we received an offer from AutoEurope for a discount if we book our car by December 8. :thumbsup2

Thank god, I remembered it today and we looked at different rental car company's offers but AutoEurope won hands down. So we got ourselves a Chrysler Sebring or similar and actually paid about 40€ less than if we had booked with Dollar directly! Yeah, more money for MICKEY!!!! ;)

So we are now nearly all set. The flight is booked and paid for, the hotels are booked with a nice discount, the same goes for the car. I still need to buy the photopass CD (pre-purchase offer).

Guess during my Christmas holiday I can start the in-depth planning! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Awesome getting that deal on the car rental and saving some money! Who needs more money but the Mouse, right?

Haha, in-depth planning that includes lots of itinerary changes.
