Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to the CSR we go! A Feb PTR 2/28 Trip report started!!!

Awesome getting that deal on the car rental and saving some money! Who needs more money but the Mouse, right?

Haha, in-depth planning that includes lots of itinerary changes.

Maybe I should make Scrooge my middle name!! :lmao:

You know me too well, Yuki! Changing my itinerary is what I love to do most!

NEWS!!!!!!!

We booked our rental car today! Last week we received an offer from AutoEurope for a discount if we book our car by December 8. :thumbsup2

Thank god, I remembered it today and we looked at different rental car company's offers but AutoEurope won hands down. So we got ourselves a Chrysler Sebring or similar and actually paid about 40€ less than if we had booked with Dollar directly! Yeah, more money for MICKEY!!!! ;)

So we are now nearly all set. The flight is booked and paid for, the hotels are booked with a nice discount, the same goes for the car. I still need to buy the photopass CD (pre-purchase offer).

Guess during my Christmas holiday I can start the in-depth planning! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yay for the car rental, though we loved Disney transportation. Maybe there's something wrong with us, who knows? I totally agree...once the first of the year rolls around (and its coming FAST), the trip will be here before we know it! :dance3: Also happy for you that everything is coming together.

I think we'll have our trip paid in full before Christmas. I am getting so excited. I really want to sit down and start putting together some real, in-depth plans, but haven't had a chance yet. So busy!

:woohoo: Every dollar saved is a dollar more for Mickey!!! :woohoo:

Years and years ago when my friend and I were planning a visit to Belgium, AutoEurope had the absolutely best airfare (only $70 more for her from Dallas than me from Boston!) and car rental rate...and the air could even be cancelled for a full refund. Amazing. Those were the days.

(no package news here, but watching carefully:goodvibes. Oh dear! I've still not answered your email, have I? Where is my head these days anyway? :confused3)

P.S. Lovin' the Advent Calendar! What was the dessert on the left at Yak & Yeti on the 3rd? Looks soooo good!!! Dessert Party pics brought back good memories. The St. Nicholas page was wonderful - so few here know about or celebrate his day. Thanks!

I know, a lot of people love Disney transportation, we are two of those, who can do without! :rotfl2:
Maybe it is that we enjoy driving so much, well, Tom does, I enjoy having a chauffeur! ;) :lmao:
And since we always do some offsite shopping, we need the car anyway.
Would you believe it? Today I got another offer from AutoEurope and the same car we booked yesterday is 20€ MORE!!!!!!!!! Still not the regular price, but I am so happy I remembered to book it yesterday! ;)

I am hoping to be able to do some in-depth planning during my Christmas Vacation. We'll end school on Dec 23 at noon and go back on Jan 10! So there should be enough time left for February planning AND to plan our meals for August! We'll be on the free DDP for the first part, so we're going to have some credits to spend!

Today is a holiday here in Austria, so I am home today as well! I could become used to those 3 day weeks! ;) :goodvibes

Oh, you understand - every Dollar/Euro I can set aside goes directly to Mickey - he's like my piggy bank!!! :rotfl2:

We usually get our cars from AutoEurope as they include all the insurance, the additional driver fee and a tank of gas! So this is kind of a "Hakuna Matata" (no worries) offer! The only thing is, you never know which company your car will come from before booking. They used to have a loop hole, so you could peek beforehand, but they have closed it. They are giving you a list of the possible rental car agencies though.
We got Dollar, which we booked with the last few years and have always been satisfied.

Sorry the package takes so long. But it should be there any day now! At least I hope so! :goodvibes They do give you a number to trace your package, but it only works as long as it the parcel is in Austria - so all I can tell you is, that it left Austria in the early hours of December 1st! Hope you'll get it SOON!!!!

The dessert on the left are the cream cheese filled won tons. On the right is a Mango pie. I love the won tons - so good!!!!
St. Nicolas is a huge thing here, especially for the little kids!

Maybe I should make Scrooge my middle name!! :lmao:

Haha, I'm pretty sure Scrooge is the middle name of ALL Disers! Or at least the majority of us. If not, then definitely the ones over at the budget board.

Congrats on the savings for the rental car. Hopefully you'll get lucky again and get to drive a cool car!

Woo hoo! Every time I save myself some money, I always know it's just more I can spend on the mouse! :lmao:

I haven't been posting much, but I am reading along. Been a busy week.
Great deal on the acar. I like the Disney transportation, but Skip loves to have a car. So out of the 3 trips I have taken with him, 2 have had a car, and I think he vows to always have on. I rarely want to leave property, so it's no big deal to me.

Don't worry, Jen, real life can be busy sometimes and with Skip's operation you have every right to be occupied otherwise!

I am not a huge fan of Disney transportation. It seems that on vacation I am not very patient when it comes to waiting for buses! ;) And we love going offsite - guess it's different for you Americans, but we don't have any malls like you have, so a little venturing offsite is part of every trip - so the car is a must!

I hope everyone is doing well! So sorry, I haven't posted here much, but we got dumped with snow those last few days and it takes me ages to get back to my place in the evening.

Not much new here. I haven't had time to do my in-depth planning for our trip, but I will once my Christmas vacation starts, which will be on December 23rd! Only 11 more days to go!

I tried to take a few photos of the Disney themed Christmas decorations at my place, but most of them didn't come out well, so here are just a few teasers, I guess I need to take them during daylight.

Hope you like them!

We're getting a lot of snow now too! Non stop snowing all day today! I'm not looking forward to shoveling tmr....and I have an exam to get to too!

I love those Disney decorations you have! I love the Christmas store in DtD. I can't wait to have my own place to decorate with all the Disney stuff I want.

Love your Christmas decorations! Very Disney like! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We always need a rental because we always go offsite to meet family. Glad you were able to get it at a discount!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

Karin, LOVE the "Disney theme" you ahve going there with your Christmas decorations. Don't apologize for no updates...it's the holidays and we all seem to be behind.

How did you do in your exam?

We already HAVE a lot of snow and there is more to come! It is getting so cold here too! It's supposed to be 5°Fahrenheit (-15°C!! :scared1:) and colder over the next few days! I cannot wait for the Christmas holiday to start and not having to drive for 40 minutes to get to our school! :sad2:

It's my little corner of Disney magic here in Austria! ;)

We just love having a car while on vacation. And since I need to do my shopping trips it comes in very handy! ;) ......... and so does a huge trunk! :rotfl2:

We stock up on Christmas items while in the US - thank god for the Christmas store! ;) The holidays would not be the same without Disney, would they?

There are just not enough hours in a day at the moment to do updates on all my threads! I want to push my dining review and get that one done, so I can concentrate on the trip report and pre-trip one. Only 7 more workdays and then my Christmas vacation starts! :cloud9:

:woohoo: I got our Christmas tree today!!! :woohoo:

Now that's a sign that the holidays are just around the corner! :yay: Today is my day off, even though I need to go to school because we have parents night tonight! :scared1: (Why is it that only the parents of the kids who don't have problems show up and never the ones you really want to talk too?)

So after I was done grocery shopping I thought I might as well walk down the block to the Christmas tree seller! We have a real tree and always buy from the same seller, his trees are beautiful and they keep for a long time, even in my flat with the central heating on!
To cut the long story short - he had a tree I really liked and it is about 6 1/2 ft tall, exactly as tall as I wanted it. It is now parked out on the balcony and I hope to put it up at the weekend.

Another step closer to Christmas and another step closer to our February vacation! :dance3:

And some other thing I wanted to share with you all.
It's NATIVE SPEAKER WEEK at our school. Our 4th formers (the 14 year olds) were able to sign up for a week of work and fun with 5 native speakers (English!)
I was lurking around yesterday a lot and it was great fun to watch them interact and work with the kids.

Here are some photos!

Kathy, Jayme is from Chicago!

Congrats on the great deal on the car. We have never had a car there, but this time since we are driving down we will. I love Disney transportation. I am all about the I'm on vacation so I don't wanna drive mentality. However it will be nice to have it just in case, and so I can hit an outlet mall or 2.

I am with you, we might be paying off our trip before Christmas too. Unfortunately we had a hiccup in our financial situation do to the fabulous ice and white stuff on the roads. I love snow, I just wish it would stay off the roads.

I think I did pretty ok on my exam. I'm confident that I'll get a good mark. I forgot it was cumulative....so only intensively studied the latter part of the course. Good thing I have such a great memory and the questions about the rest of the course are questions she re-used from our last midterm!

It's already gotten past 20C over here :sad1: My back is starting to hurt from the shoveling :sad2:

Wow, a real Christimas tree! My best friend bought a 6 foot tree as well. I haven't had a tree since.....I was 14? We started getting less gifts from family and friends (they just gave us money) so we had nothing to put under the tree, and we got lazy about getting a tree and putting it up.

I really miss decorating the tree though! And I love christmas ornaments. I can't wait to have my own tree!

Oooh, 5 native English speakers from America? That's so cool!
