Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to the CSR we go! A Feb PTR 2/28 Trip report started!!!

Trip planning:

First attempt of an itinerary

Now that I told you everything about where we are going to stay, here is my first attempt of an itinerary.
Why first attempt? ............ because I am going to change it a lot in the coming 87 days! :lmao:

So here goes:
Day 1, February 19
We'll fly in to Orlando at 7pm, then we will need to go through immigration and pick up our rental car.
We'll go straight to the Red Roof Inn to check in and put our luggage into our room. Then we will drive to DTD to pick up some dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Express -

IMG_4144.jpg

wouldn't be the right start to a vacation without dinner from WPE!

Day 2, February 20
Since our inner clocks will still be on European time, we'll get up early, drive to WPE and have some yummy breakfast.

IMG_4150.jpg

We will then drive to CSR and check in.

IMG_4340.jpg

Since I guess we won't be able to get to our room we will do some offsite shopping until the early afternoon.
In the afternoon we will drive to Port Canaveral to have a good look at the new Disney Dream. Once she has sailed out we will return to the CSR for some down time.
Dinner: The Wave
EEMH at the MK with Tina until the small hours of the morning! :scared1:

Day 3, February 21

Guess we will have a snack breakfast out of the fridge

We'll spend some time offsite shopping and having an early lunch somewhere offsite (whatever tickles our fancy)

The late afternoon will be spent at the resort, either taking a walk around the resort, or maybe we can have a dip in the pool!

Dinner is at the CG and from there we will watch Wishes.

Day 4, February 22

Breakfast might be at Pepper Market

We'll spend the morning at the AK and have lunch at either Flame Tree or Mara

Then we will change parks and spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at Epcot, where we have a dinner reservation at Via Napoli.

Day 5, February 23

Today we'll start with a breakfast at the Crystal Palace and some fun time at the MK.

In the afternoon we have a reservation for the Grand Floridian Tea and then we'll head to AK for EMH.

We'll have an offsite dinner

Day 6, February 24

We'll try to make it to DHS for rope drop, have a snack at Starring Rolls and by midday we'll change parks and head over to the MK. We have a late lunch reservation at the Plaza and want to see the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes before we head back to the resort. We might even have some dinner at Pepper Market or Maya Grill.

Day 7, February 25

We have an early breakfast reservation at Maya Grill, then head to AK for a few final rides on our favourite rides (EE, Safari, It's tough to be a bug) before we head back to Epcot of our lunch reservation at Le Cellier.
We hope to be able to spend the afternoon at Epcot, then take the Monorail to the MK for Wishes Dessert Party and back to Epcot for EMH

Day 8, February 26

Check out of resort and have breakfast at The Wave. Spend the morning at the MK until the early afternoon.
Have a late lunch at WPE and drive to the airport. Return rental car and fly back to Frankfurt

Day 9, February 27

Return back home at around mid afternoon!

Sorry for the lack of photos, but it's nearly midnight here and I am too tired to search for some. I'll post lots of them with my final itinerary!

Oooh! The Wishes dessert party! I can't wait to hear more about that. I had wanted to do that on my last trip, but was too late to book it.

Very nice itinerary. You'll love Via Napoli if you haven't tried it yet. Delicious pizza :cloud9: So you're a Disney cruise fanatic are you? Now I know who to turn to when I'm thinking of taking my first Disney cruise!

OK....so I had to pull my spreadsheet itinerary right away to compare. I feel honored to already be a part of your plans for EMHs at MK! I can't wait. It is my little bit of time to be a little selfish on this trip. :lmao: My husband thinks I'm crazy, but he doesn't get Disney the same way the rest of us do.

We could probably meet up at the resort on Monday afternoon and you and Tom could meet Max and Mark and my mom! We're also planning on going to AK the same morning, as well.

This is all so exciting!!

Karin and Tom, the itinerary sounds great as do the places you are eating at. I love how you guys always start with WP. :)

Yes! I guess we will enjoy it more in the cooler season than we did during our 3 visits in August/September last year! It was real fun!
I hope they have the same yum desserts they had two years ago. I didn't even really think about booking it until I read that booking was open for our time frame here on the DISboards!

We tried it right after it opened in August and LOVED it! I have been tempted to go to La Hazienda but after Nicki's review I thought that Via Napoli was the better option! ;)
Just let me know what you want to know about Disney cruises - we'll go on three during the summer vacation! :lmao: The guy selling cruises on board really liked us a lot! We came back every other day to book another cruise. :rotfl2:

:woohoo: We sure can do the "meet and greet" on Monday! I would LOVE to meet Mark and Max and your mom! It seems like I already know you, so getting to meet in person will be extra special.
I am sure we can work something out, esp. since we both seem to have requested the same location at CSR! :lmao:

Tom got an offer from AutoEurope today, offering 15% off a rental for our February time frame. So this weekend we might even book our rental - another little piece of the puzzle falling into place!

WPE is always the start and end of our vacation - has become a tradition for us! :lmao: :cloud9:
I am quite happy with the itinerary for now - I guess I will come up with a few new ideas to turn things around! ......... and around .............. and around! Oh, how much I love to change my plans!

Haha, hooray for the Dis! Maybe they'll have some warmer desserts? Oh, I can't wait to try the dessert party myself!

:disrocks:

First they tell me about the AP discounts and then I read about the dessert party!
What would I do without the DISboards! ;) :goodvibes

I know my disney trips have been changed forever thanks to the Dis. No more wandering around, not knowing what to do and being stuck in long lines all day! :thumbsup2

Hi! I am enjoying your PTR. I also lurk on your TR, which I am also enjoying. :teeth: Sounds like you all have some good plans!

Yeah, for CSR!!! So happy for you & Tom! :woohoo: The pics you posted are beautiful - that resot is gorgeous, especially during the holidays. One of these days I'll get there...but those darn deluxe resorts seem to get in my way. :rolleyes1

You know, I would have been here sooner, but this PTR was started on my birthday :goodvibes while I was a train going home from WDW. ;) Now, my excuse for not getting here for 5 days ....hmm...oh! I only saw the link this morning and then popped over immediately. :teeth:

Your itinerary looks great - all the places I like to eat! ::yes::

We did the Wishes Dessert Party on November 18th! I must be the only DISer who was not wowed by it - but we were absolutley freezing and I was so hoping they would have hot apple cider as one of the drinks (coffee, a variety of teas, and cold drink options). It was very nice to sit and relax while we waited for Wishes - this was during MVMCP, so it was the Holiday Wishes - we had a perfect seating location in the front row (they take you to preassigned table). Many did get up to stand by the railing when Wishes was announced, so we joined them at the railing - wonderful!

So happy you've started a PTR! As always, perfect companionship for we armchair travellers. :goodvibes

Changing my itinerary could be my middle name! :rotfl2: I forever change things around and then in the end we have a hard time sticking to the final itinerary! ;)
But planning is half the fun and the DISboards have had a great influence on my plans! So glad I found this place! :yay:

It's nice that you came out of lurkdome! :goodvibes I love to know my readers! :goodvibes

Thank you for sharing our excitement about CSR! Thanks to KatMark and her thread we tried it last time and loved it. Can't wait to go back and now that we discovered Pepper Market as well, it will be even sweeter staying there.
But I do understand what you mean about the deluxe resorts - we are totally hooked on OKW!
A long time ago I saw it on TV and thought that we would never ever be able to afford to stay there. Then a few years ago I got an incredible AP discount for a studio. When we checked in the CM checking us in said something like - I guess you guys will enjoy staying in a 1 bedroom villa! I nearly fell over backwards - we had been upgraded for our more than 10 day stay!
Well, it seems Disney knows what they are doing, because we keep coming back, always booking the 1 bedroom villa. Thanks to Disney.co.uk we can take advantage of a 42% discount on the room AND free dining! :thumbsup2 All the more reasons to go back! :rolleyes1

We have been to three Dessert Parties in the first year they offered them - all within 3 weeks. :lmao: It was boiling hot twice and we had a light drizzle the third time. But it was fun and relaxing to nibble and indulge in all the sweets while waiting for Wishes!
So I guess we'll end our trip with some fun and even more sweets!

Subbing... so I don't forget later. I will be back in a few days to catch up! ;)

Hi Tim!
I can't believe you join my pre-trippie! :goodvibes Welcome!

Is everything packed yet? Is Ana still able to go to sleep at night with all the excitement?
Have a fun trip!

Hello, everyone! How are you all doing?

I thought I would let you take part in our countdown excitement - under 100 days ......... 82 to be precise and that means we have less than 12 weeks until our February vacation! :cloud9: :woohoo:

Now here's a question for you all!
Those of you who read my trip report from our August/September 2010 trip will know that we "just" discovered the Disney water parks. At the weekend I read in a trip report that someone went to Typhoon Lagoon in February. Given the weather is warmer than last year's President's Week, do you think planning half a day at a water park would be a good idea? I loved the idea in the other trip report, that one could have fun in an outdoor wave pool, while the people at home are shovelling snow! :rotfl2:
We still have a few days of water parks left on our tickets from summer, so maybe we should just try it! ;) :lmao:

It's nice to know that this week is going to be another "short" week for me. Tomorrow is my day off and on Wednesday we have a huge union meeting here in my home town, so NO school then either! :yay:
Just Thursday and Friday are school days. Unfortunately we got a huge load of snow, so I am waiting for the temperatures to go up just a little bit. I don't mind snow if it leaves the streets clean, but at the moment it is a bit overwhelming and SO cold! Yip, I know it's nearly December, but I still like the snow at Blizzard Beach more! ;)

Okay, 2 months and 3 weeks until we leave - lots of time to do some more planning and changing!

See ya all later!

We aren't totally packed... I'm still doing the final few loads of laundry. :headache:

She has been sleeping fine... I'm not sure what tonight and especially tomorrow night will bring.... :confused3

You got snow already??? Poor Karin!!

I'm still dreading when we get our first big snowfall....hopefully it won't be until the new year......

Hm....if the weather permits, a half day at a water park sounds lovely!!! I would definitely do it if I were you.

You sound a lot like me, Tim! Getting ready at the very last minute!
But you are leaving tomorrow! :woohoo:
Hope everything works out just the way it is planned. Enjoy your time at the most magical place of them all! :goodvibes

We got LOADS of snow! Thankfully it is managable here in the city, but in the little village where I teach it is just too much! It's very windy, as the little village is on top of a hill and there are lots of drifts, so driving is a nightmare! :scared1: Can't wait for spring, or at least some warmer weather!

I checked the refurbishment schedule for the waterparks and Typhoon Lagoon should be open, so I'll just bring our swimming stuff with us, in case it is warm enough to really spend half a day there. :woohoo:

Subbing, I love, love, love all the beautiful pics of the resort and the food of course. Makes me hungry! I will post more later today after I get all caught up.

We've never done the water parks, just too busy I guess, maybe someday.

SNOW!!! YUCK!!! I am sure we'll be getting it soon. In fact 1-3 inches tomorrow but since it's almost 50 today I can't imagine it sticking around. By the time we go in February there should be a lot on the ground here and be really, cold that's why I love going in February. We are going Feb 11-18 maybe til the 19th if I can pull a few strings.

I was not around for your last PTR but excited to follow you with this one. We leave about 10 days before you, we head out on the 9th for the 20+hour drive with 4 kids from Michigan down to Disney.

Hopefully you can stop by and check out my ptr and give me some advice and opinions!
