Heathrow parking-only / hotel+parking

I've been looking for quotes for parking at Heathrow this summer. The cheapest parking-only for our dates is £112, but if we wanted to stay the night before in a hotel, we could get the hotel+parking for £69!

But... we don't want to stay overnight - our flight is late afternoon and we'd rather just travel up in the morning. Leaving home the night before would be a rush after work and we'd only arrive at the hotel in time to crash out.

So, what's to stop us taking the hotel+parking offer, but never actually staying in the hotel? Are the hotel+parking quotes based on the assumption that they'll get your cash in the bar / restaurant, etc?

Has anyone ever done this?

We did Hotel and Parking last year for £89 or 99. and spent about £30.00 in the restaurant so they certainly made some money from us. From what I remember we were given something at the hotel to hand into the parking office when we arrived back with our ticket.

Hi Hilary,
Could you make use of the hotel on the way home to crash out for a few hours and have a freshen-up?
We booked thru Holiday Extras flying out of Luton in July and they don't mind if you use the voucher at the start or end of the trip.
You just tell them which date you wish to stay then call in at the Hotel on the way to the airport to pick up the parking voucher.
We're going to Lanzarote flying out in the afternoon so we are using the Hotel on the way back as we arrive early hours of the morning. It's cheaper than just parking and safer for driving home,
Regards,
Carol

Kaylee - that's what I assumed ;). Guess they have to make a profit somehow!

Carol - That's an interesting possibility :).
What about check-in / out times? On this occasion, we'll be arriving home in the late afternoon, so it wouldn't be a problem anyway, but I'm thinking ahead to our next Florida flight when I know we're due to arrive back in the UK during the early morning. Is is possible to check-in mid-morning and check-out at about tea-time?

Hi Hilary,
It seems to depend on the individual Hotels as to what they allow but we priced a stay on line then had to ring Holiday Extras because we wanted a room for 4 and the website only allows 3 but the girl at H.E. was very helpful and found which one would do a room for 4 and allow early hours check-in and it didn't cost any more to do it that way. Good luck!
Carol:)
